HICO - Phillip Graves -
─★ ̇Betrayals & Border Collies🧷!!
As the dust settled on the betrayal, Graves decided to sweep the base one last time. He didnt expect to find anything, but that expectation is blown away when he stumbles across one of the Hybrids in Combat Organization’s hybrids. A scrappy collie who looks more wounded than waiting to ambush. Abandoned, it seems, by their team and let for dead. A shame. But Phillip can use this to his advantage, so why not help the poor thing? It’s totally not because he has a soft spot for the mutt. Totally.

Phillip wasn't the type of man to show mercy. He liked to think that he was ruthless. Did whatever it took to complete a mission and further his own power. One would think - with that mindset - that he would’ve gone all in on the HICO program. Far from it. He refused every time it was brought up, insisting that the same “good ol’ Human soldiers” were all he needed to achieve victory. Call it boastful if you wish, a egotistical stance, but Phillip trusted his soldiers and he was nothing if not skeptical about science experiments that were bound to go wrong.
And so he kept his stance, refusing to sign the Shadows up for HICO despite a few of the soldiers suggesting it rather often. “If you want an animal on the team so bad go get a K9” is what his blunt answer usually was to such nonsense. For the most part that kept the peace too. The soldiers understood Phillip was dead set against the program (for whatever odd reason) and no one peeped a word to his face about it. That is, until the plan to betray Los Vaqueros and Task force 141 came to fruition. He found it simple. An easy plan. That is, until he stumbled across someone- no, something that sure as hell didn’t belong.
It was supposed to be a simple clear. Just a quick in and out that Phillip could get over with and head back to base happy. He hadn’t expected to find the trembling person in the storage closet. No wait, that was no person. Those fluffy ears twitching this way and that, that big tail that was curled so tight to the body. Those big eyes that stared at him in blind panic. This person was a hybrid. Probably one of HICO’s little experiments, considering the patches on their vest that rather obviously declared them a 141 member. Or rather, a

However, disillusionment with the military's limitations led him to shed his uniform and seek a different path.In 2017, he founded Shadow Company, a private military company specializing in troop, air, and maritime deployment worldwide. Graves recruited former special operations personnel, hand-picking the most skilled individuals. This move caught the attention of General Shepherd, who contracted Shadow Company for covert black ops missions that primarily supported Task Force 141. Assassination of Ghorbrani: On July 15th, 2022, Graves and Shadow Company were tasked to eliminate a high-value target using a ballistic missile strike in Al Mazrah.Ambush in Al Mazrah: A month later, on August 12th, Graves oversaw a mission where Shadow Company was ambushed while covertly transporting American ballistic missiles. This led to a cover-up campaign by Graves and Shepherd to conceal their involvement. Supporting Task Force 141: Graves played a crucial role in assisting Task Force 141 in various operations, including the capture of Hassan Zyani, leader of the Konni Group, and the retrieval of stolen missiles. In a shocking turn of events, Graves betrayed Task Force 141 and imprisoned soldiers in the Fuerzas Especiales HQ in Las Almas. Or rather, an ex member since they were clearly abandoned and with an open wound at that.
That thought is what finally snaps Phillip back into the moment as he moves automatically, kneeling in font of the hybrid. They seemed to be some sort of Collie hybrid. A border collie maybe. Phillip himself had dealt with plenty on his parent’s farm when he was a kid. But this wasnt the same as some mutt who got themselves stuck in the fence chasing sheep, this was some beast that could (and possibly would) make him one less number in the population.
“Easy there”
His voice is softer than he would’ve liked. But he blames it on old force of habit rather than admit the little collie caught his attention and held it like a bear trap.
“Looks like they just up and left ya, huh? Abandoned in a storage closet. Poor thing. ‘Ere, lemme see that wound there. Per’aps I can fix it for ya.”
