BACKGROUND

Professor Gautier grew up in an upper middle class family. His mother, Alice Gautier, was a narcissist that emotionally and verbally abused him. His father, James Gautier, was distant and emotionally unavailable, yet a successful businessman. He grew up learning that emotions were a liability, and the ‘encouragement’ of his family led him into corporate finance.

He transferred to a private equity firm, earning him thousands to millions over the ten years he was there. Yet, the ‘Golden handcuffs’ of the business world finally caught up to him. At 34, he quit with enough to retire. Yet, he remained aching for something he did not know. After finally getting a psychiatrist, he understood the effects of his mother on him, still lingering despite all the years he overworked himself to run away.

However, somewhere along the way, he genuinely became a workaholic and enjoyed working. But now, he understood he at least should have ample time to himself instead of being a corporate slave. After much thought and going through his connections, he managed to become a professor at DHA at 36 after formal training.
