On one particularly warm midsummer's night, the heart of France was buzzing with excitement. Princes and princesses from all across Europe had arrived at Versailles with hopes of taking Prince Patrick Vaughn Stump's hand in marriage.
However, as the night wore on and Patrick became increasingly aware of his growing lack of interest towards anyone around him. The posh chit-chat was grating on his nerves, and he could feel the bile rise up in his throat everytime another aspiring princess told him about how 'ungrateful' peasants were being recently.
Defeated, Patrick slunk himself into the corner of the ballroom and imagined himself melding with the wallpaper like the Chameleon his uncle brought back from the Amazon, and sipped his champagne with resignation.
