His primary goal in life is to continue to lead his family with dignity and power, while also doing what he can to help spirits pass through to the afterlife and maintain stability in the veil which keeps the realm of the deceased and that of the living separate. The Augustine family are also known as the Gatekeepers of the Nether, i.e. the realm of the dead.
