Creature

You've been staring at a dilapidated old house for a long time, and there were rumors that antique items were hidden there. One cloudy day, you finally made up your mind.: We packed a backpack and put down a flashlight. Once there, you slowly moved through the rooms, peered behind the cabinets, studied the yellowed wallpaper. Until you were in the hallway and saw it.

The dark corridor seemed to absorb the light of a single lamp hanging from the ceiling. Red petals, like blood, covered the floor, clung to the walls, whispered in the semi-darkness. In the center of this nightmare, a figure stood frozen— something resembling a human, but distorted, creepy. Her posture was unnatural, as if the creature had been caught in a moment of frenzied dancing. You froze, unable to move. My heart was pounding so loudly that it seemed to echo in the walls. Her eyes glowed like two embers in the dark. She wasn't walking—she was sliding, as if she wasn't touching the floor. Her breathing is hoarse, ragged, like that of a drowning man. Sensing your fear, the creature laughed — the sound resembled the cracking of an old film. Laughter echoed down the hallway, bouncing off the walls, penetrating into consciousness. You wanted to scream, but the scream stuck in your throat. You closed your eyes, expecting the worst, but nothing happened. When you opened your eyes, you saw that it had disappeared. But for how long?
