When they were six years old, twin brothers Kairo and Kaine were trapped in a house fire deliberately set by their mother. The flames left both boys permanently scarred across their faces, necks, and bodies. Their father, known only as God, survived but was horribly burned trying to save them. For twenty years, the twins believed he had abandoned them.
Then one day, they receive a summons.
Their father—scarred, dying, and almost mythic in their minds—reveals the truth: their mother was the one who set the fire. His final wish is simple.
Find her. Kill her.
Kairo (Older Twin-Left)
Kairo is the more emotional brother. He hides his pain behind sarcasm, flirting, and reckless confidence. He wants to be seen as strong, but beneath the surface he's still the little boy who wonders why his mother hated him.
Charismatic and quick-witted Impulsive and hot-headed Extremely protective of Kaine Craves affection but struggles with trust Uses humor to avoid talking about trauma
Playing guitar Collecting old records Boxing Writing songs
Kaine (Younger Twin-Right)
Kaine is quieter, colder, and more calculating. Unlike Kairo, he rarely expresses his emotions openly. He believes vengeance is the only thing that has ever given his suffering meaning.
Observant and intelligent Patient Emotionally guarded Loyal to a fault Has a dark sense of humor
Knife carving Reading mythology Repairing old motorcycles Stargazing
The twins function almost like two halves of the same person.
Kairo is the heart. Kaine is the mind.
They constantly argue, insult each other, and disagree about how far they're willing to go, but neither could survive without the other. Their scars, trauma, and mission have bound them together so tightly that they often know what the other is thinking before a word is spoken.
Kaine is the only person Kairo fully trusts. Their greatest fear is losing each other.
Both brothers spent years believing they were unlovable because of their scars. They still remember the smell of smoke more vividly than their childhood home. Both secretly wish their mother had loved them enough not to choose violence. They communicate through subtle looks and gestures no one else understands. Their scars became symbols of survival rather than weakness. Many people mistake them for emotionless killers, but they're far more compassionate than they appear.
Kairo falls in love easily but rarely admits it. Kaine takes much longer to trust someone romantically. Both are surprisingly gentle with people they genuinely care about. Their scars make them self-conscious, though others often find their resilience and confidence deeply attractive.

The nursing home smelled like antiseptic and wilted flowers.
Kairo and Kaine stood outside Room 313, frozen.
For twenty years they'd believed their father—God—had abandoned them.
Now they were finally here.
"You ready?" Kaine asked.
Kairo nods
Kaine:"Let's go meet god."
Kairo:"God?"
Kaine:"He did make us didn't he?"
Kairo:he scoffs while fixing his outfit "You gonna get struck down."
Kaine walked up the stairs of the hospital house as it had their names wrong Kaine:"He didn't get our names right."
The room fell silent. As they came through the windchime like door as they're father met their gaze
A nurse stood beside a bed where a horribly scarred man lay beneath blankets. Burn scars twisted across every inch of exposed skin. His breathing sounded like broken machinery.
"Come closer," Nate rasped.
The twins obeyed.
For a moment he simply stared at them.
"My boys..."
The words nearly broke him.
"What happened that night?" Kaine asked. "The truth."
Nate closed his eyes.
"I was making dinner. Your mother came into the bathroom. She wanted money. Wanted me to get rid of you two. Said we'd be happier without children."
Kairo's stomach dropped.
"When I refused, she attacked me. Knocked me unconscious."
His voice shook.
"When I woke up... I was in the bathtub."
The room felt colder.
"She told you boys we were playing a game. Said you had to wake Daddy up."
Neither twin spoke.
"She poured gasoline over me."
Nate swallowed.
"And over the house."
Kairo felt sick.
"I remember hearing your voices. Then fire."
The nurse lowered her head.
"She left us all there to burn."
Silence.
Finally Nate their father looked at them.
"I want her dead."
Kairo blinked.
"What?"
"I'm serious."
"We don't kill people," Kairo said.
"Just forget her."
Nate laughed bitterly.
"Forget?"
He nodded to the nurse.
The blanket was pulled away.
The twins froze.
His body was a landscape of burns, melted flesh, and old scars.
"I'm dying," Nate said quietly. "There is no peace until I know she's gone."
The room fell silent.
Then Kaine spoke.
"What's the address?"
Kairo whipped around.
"Kaine!"
But Nate was already smiling.
Hours later, the Oldsmobile rolled down an empty highway.
"We aren't murderers," Kairo said.
Kaine took a drag from a joint and stared out the window.
"Look at us."
"Kaine—"
"Look at us."
Kairo went quiet.
"Our faces. Our lives. Everything she took."
Smoke drifted through the car.
"If she hadn't done it, maybe we'd have had birthdays. Maybe we'd have had a family."
Kairo imagined it.
A normal childhood.
No scars.
No nightmares.
No hospitals.
"How do we live with ourselves if we do this?" he asked softly.
Kaine scoffed.
"How do we live with ourselves if we don't?"
Silence filled the car.
"Our father gave us a purpose."
Kaine flicked ash out the window.
"We're not leaving God hanging."
After a long moment, Kairo sighed.
The road stretched endlessly ahead.
Their first stop was Mister Divine—the man their mother ran off with years ago.
If anyone knew where her lawyer was, it would be him.
And the lawyer was the only person who knew where their mother was hiding.
The twins drove west into the dark, chasing answers, vengeance, and a fire that had never truly stopped burning.
