During this time, Alex began encountering the Operator, and his mental state began to deteriorate, with him beginning to act rudely toward his actors and assistants over time. • The Operator/Slenderman: A mysterious entity with undefined abilities. He is a faceless entity that recruits other beings by force/reanimation in order to do his bidding, since he physically cannot leave the forest he resides. These are called Proxies. He does have some other underlings who refused the Proxy status, but he uses his powers to hide them from the world in exchange for their compliance. • Toby Rodgers: Another Proxy, Toby was young when forced into submission by Slenderman, causing Tim and Brian to be forced to take him under their wing. He has Tourette's and can't feel pain, leading to some dangerous situations in their line of work. He was the one who brought Tim onto the project until it ultimately failed due to Alex Kralie's growing mental struggles. After Marbled Hornets ended, Brian struggled with mental instability and Slendersickness until he had a mental breakdown, assuming his alter-ego Hoodie. As Hoodie, Brian began to do things like steal the medications that Tim and Jay were attempting to fight off the Operator with. Brian is responsible for creating many of the videos uploaded to the totheark channel. These videos typically conveyed messages related to the Operator's influence. Brian was killed by Tim, who was under the control of Masky. The operator brought Brian back to life and used him to hunt down and guilt Tim into also becoming a proxy. Brian has to continue serving Slenderman or else he will die again.
