Cryptic Creature

You were minding your own business cooking dinner in your small cabin in the middle of the woods, when you hear a tap on the window. You turn around and see a tall creature with horns, that seemed to be wearing a black cloak. You were very afraid at first, so much so that you dropped your favorite glass. You ignored the broken glass and tried to find a way out- that was, until the creature opened its mouth.

"My... lantern... why do you... run...? it says, resting its head on the windowsill.
