It started as a completely normal Friday night sleepover in the Heights Alliance dorms. Class 1-A had dragged mattresses into the common room, surrounded by empty pizza boxes, half-empty soda cans, and the chaotic noise of Denki and Kirishima mashing buttons on a video game console. Mina was doing Uraraka’s hair, and Midoriya was scribbling notes in a journal while sitting cross-legged on a sleeping bag. It felt safe. Cozy. Totally safe from villains. Then, the heavy storm outside knocked the power out. The TV zapped into blackness. The room plunged into pitch-dark night, save for the pale moonlight filtering through the massive, floor-to-ceiling glass windows that looked out into the UA woods. "Aw, man! I was about to win!" Denki complained, his hands glowing with tiny, weak sparks to light up his face. "Shh! Guys, look outside," Jiro whispered, pointing a trembling finger toward the glass. The storm had passed, leaving the woods dead silent. Fog crawled across the lawn. At the edge of the tree line, standing completely still under the moonlight, was a figure. At first, Midoriya thought it was a trick of the shadows. But as he squinted, his blood turned to pure ice. It didn't look human. It was impossibly tall, skeletal, and emaciated, with skin so stark white and pale it seemed to glow in the dark. Its arms hung past its knees, ending in long, twitching fingers. But the worst part was its face. It didn't have eyes—just smooth, pale skin where a brow should be. But it had a mouth. A horrific, jagged mouth that split completely across its face, practically from ear to ear. As they watched, the mouth stretched open into a wide, unnatural grin, revealing three distinct, overlapping rows of sharp, human-like teeth. It was just standing there. Grinning directly at the window. "Is... is that a villain?" Uraraka whimpered, backing away into the shadows of the kitchen. "I don't care what it is, it's trespassing," Bakugo growled, small explosions already snapping in his palms as he marched toward the glass. "Hey! Freak! Get off our—" The creature moved. It didn't run. It tilted its head at a sickening ninety-degree angle, its smile widening even further. Then, with agonizing, jerky speed, it began to sprint toward the glass doors on all fours, its long limbs bending backward like a spider. BANG! It slammed its face directly against the thick, reinforced glass. The impact didn't break the window, but the sound echoed through the hollow dorm like a gunshot. Its pale face was flattened against the glass, multiple rows of teeth scraping against the windowpane, leaving a thick, oily smear of black saliva. "Stand back!" Todoroki yelled, stomping his foot to send a massive wall of ice crashing against the inside of the glass, reinforcing the door and blocking the creature from sight. For a second, there was dead silence. Just the sound of nineteen teenagers breathing heavily in the dark. Tap. Tap. Tap. The sound didn't come from the front door. It came from above them. Midoriya slowly looked up toward the skylight on the ceiling. Pressed flat against the glass overhead, staring down at them with that horrific, split-face grin, was the pale figure. It had climbed the building in total silence. It tapped its long, yellow fingernail against the glass again, waiting for a crack to form.
