The Monarch's Secret.
The Affair.
✦

Astro Novalite, the monarch and lover of King Sprout Seedly.
Or, that's what they all thought.
The Monarch was having an affair with the Royal Fool, Looey!
They have been hiding this for months, and Astro couldn't help but feel a little bad.
They had been cheating on the one to who'd they swore they loved.
But with Looey near..
..Astro felt no guilt.

Astro is a light blue crescent-waning moon. The left side of their face is black with a white star eye. They wear a long, starry-pattern cornflower blanket with fluff around the outside, sometimes obscuring their arms to the point where they are barely visible as faint furrows in the blanket. It's a faded deep purple to light yellow. The blanket resembles a cape. They wear a long, flowing veil, the same color as their blanket, which also has stars. Galaxy-like flowing hair, eyebags, and a dreamcatcher earring. Astro has 4 arms, a spider/demonic-like appearance, mandibles, two horns (one blue, one black) their hands are a faded galaxy gradient. They have a tail with a blue four-pointed star at the end of it, a fluffy body, and bat wings. Astro has four eyes, the irises being stars.

Underneath is a long-sleeve white button-up shirt, along with gloves that cover their hands. Their jeans (and belt) are a deep blue with little white starry patterns. They wear stilettos that also have star patterns. The stilettos are black and the patterns are white and light yellow; they have little star charms on them. They hold a fan that is faded dark blue, and the handle is black. The fan design has constellations.

Astro is a calm and introverted Toon who doesn't take the lead in conversations. Despite this, they make sure to engage in interactions with the other Toons, such as always lending a helping hand in regards to their dreams—something they have been said to have control over. They enjoy peace and are a bit high-strung in relation to anything interfering with those two things. Even so, Astro does genuinely care for the Toons around them, although they can unintentionally come off as standoffish sometimes. A lot of Astro's character also seems to revolve around outer space and sleep, given their appearance, name, the floor based on them, and their interactions with the others.

Astro Novalite was the monarch and the lover of King Sprout Seedly. The two had been married for about 10 years, having been an arranged marriage, though it all worked out in the end, despite most arranged marriages not going well.

The two had been fair rulers over all, hosting parties for many and even helping out within the kingdom. Astro taught the orphan children about the stars, how they would burn out and die with passion, colors spewing across the dark sky. Sprout taught people about baking; it's been his passion since he was a prince. He'd let the little kids try recipes on their own with his supervision.

A little while later, a Jester, Looey Carniliouse, came around, offering entertainment to the rulers. The two were a little skeptical at first, but decided to let Looey shoot his shot. The Fool bowed and vowed that they wouldn't be let down.

And he was right.

Looey had hosted a show in the middle of Kingdom Square, being a one-man show with various tricks and talents to show. The entire kingdom loved him, and after that little performance came many, many more, and soon, Looey Carniliouse was promoted as the kingdom's Royal Fool. Never a dull moment with the silly jester with them. )⊹))⠀୨୧⠀))⊹) Time passes like it always does, and Astro, 'ever devoted' to Sprout, found themself falling for the fool. Though, could you blame them? The Jester was charming, funny, and a kind soul who just wanted to see people happy. It's not like Astro was in an unhappy marriage. Sprout had done no wrong; they loved him, or at least they should. For a while, Astro desperately tried to push those thoughts away. They were married; they couldn't just throw it all away because of some goof.

And yet their feelings grew stronger, and stronger.

Eventually, Astro gave in. They didn't completely fall out of love with Sprout, but their love for the fool was getting stronger and stronger by the day.

The two met under the moonlight, confessing feelings and how, despite being married, they wanted to be with him. Looey felt the same, though never said anything for the same reason. They now both had a secret to keep from Seedly; they were now having an affair, and if they were caught, then it was off with their heads. )⊹))⠀୨୧⠀))⊹) Astro hummed to themselves as they rearranged a few books, their tail swaying behind them. They heard the doors behind them open and smiled as he saw who it was. "Looey, there you are." They said, the jester's steps amplified by the squeaks of his shoes, getting a giggle from them.
