Senior dorm members Trey Clover and Cater Diamond try to help, but Riddle still rejects the peace offering because it is not the Unbirthday Party day. The Duel & Overblot
- The Challenge: Following Headmage Crowley’s advice, Ace and Deuce officially challenge Riddle to a duel for the Housewarden title. * The Breaking Point: Riddle easily wins the duel. Enraged by Riddle's unfairness, Ace punches him and calls him a spoiled brat. The entire dorm begins to revolt against Riddle's extreme rules. * The Overblot: Shattered by the revolt, Riddle's negative emotions and excessive magic use cause him to Overblot—transforming into a monstrous incarnation fueled by "blot". The Resolution
- The Rescue: The Prefect coordinates a counter-attack. Trey uses his magic (Doodle Suit) to rewrite Riddle's spells, allowing the group to defeat the monster and save Riddle. * The Backstory: A flashback reveals Riddle was raised by a strictly controlling mother who timed his studying, monitored his calories, and forbade him from playing with childhood friends Trey and Che'nya. * The Growth: Riddle wakes up, cries, and apologizes to his dorm. Realizing his sabotage failed and facing taunts about never being a "true king," Leona shatters under bitter despair. * The Overblot: Consumed by toxic jealousy toward his capable older brother back home, Leona Overblots, using his decaying sand-wither magic recklessly against friend and foe alike. * The Defeat: The alliance of students successfully defeats Leona's monstrous form, bringing him back to his senses. Resolution
- The Aftermath: Leona takes responsibility for the injuries. The injured players gracefully demand a fair rematch on the field rather than disqualification. * The Ending: Diasomnia ultimately wins the tournament. Grim quietly consumes another blackened magic stone left behind from the blot, and a mysterious shadow appears in the Prefect's bedroom mirror. Book 3; The Scam of Octopus Pot
- The Trap: Following the Spelldrive tournament, over 200 failing students suddenly ace their exams. They all signed a contract with Housewarden Azul Ashengrotto at his café, the Mostro Lounge. * The Catch: Azul gives students absolute answers to exams in exchange for their unique magic as collateral. If they fail to rank in the top 50, Azul permanently keeps their magic. Grim, Ace, and Deuce fall into this trap. * The Deal: To free their friends, the Prefect makes a wager with Azul. They must break into the Atlantica Memorial Museum underwater and steal a photo before sundown on the following day. If they fail, Ramshackle Dorm belongs to Azul. The Twin Wardens
- The Obstacle: Swimming underwater is incredibly difficult for the non-aquatic team. Furthermore, Azul's enforcers, twin brothers Jade and Floyd Leech, relentlessly attack and sabotage the group at sea. * The Alliance: Needing aquatic backup, the Prefect recruits Savanaclaw's Leona Kingscholar and Ruggie Bucchi. Leona agrees because he despises Azul’s underhanded methods and expanding influence. Azul's Overblot
- The Heist: While the main group distracts the Leech twins underwater, Leona uses his sand-wither magic (King's Roar) to turn Azul's absolute, indestructible paper contracts into dust back at the dorm. * The Trauma: The contracts contained all the stolen magical power Azul used to mask his deep childhood insecurities of being a bullied, crying octopus. Seeing his life's work turn to dust breaks his sanity. * The Overblot: Stripped of his leverage and consumed by a manic desire to hoard power, Azul Overblots into a giant, ink-spewing sea witch monster. The combined forces of the students manage to defeat him. Resolution
- The Apology: Azul recovers and returns all stolen magical abilities to the students. He reconciles with Jade and Floyd, who admit they liked him better when he was a greedy, scheming octopus anyway. * The Cliffhanger: Grim consumes a third mysterious magic stone from the residue. That night, the Prefect meets Mickey Mouse through the glowing mirror in their bedroom, right before Jamil Viper from Scarabia suddenly arrives requesting emergency shelter. Book 4; The Endless Boot Camp
- The Lockdown: During winter break, Scarabia Housewarden Kalim Al-Asim undergoes a sudden personality shift. Usually cheerful and kind, he becomes a paranoid tyrant, locking down the dorm and forcing students into grueling, 24/7 magical training. * The Refuge: Fleeing the harsh conditions, Scarabia Vice Housewarden Jamil Viper brings a group of students—along with the Prefect and Grim—to Ramshackle Dorm for emergency shelter. * The Return: Headmage Crowley orders everyone back to Scarabia. The Prefect and Grim go along to investigate Kalim's strange behavioral changes. The Mind Controller
- The Discovery: The Prefect discovers that Kalim is not acting of his own free will. Jamil has been using his unique magic, Snake Whisper, to brainwash Kalim into acting like a tyrant. * The Motive: Jamil comes from a family of lifelong servants to Kalim’s wealthy family. Forced to always lose to Kalim to protect his master's ego, Jamil orchestrated the entire lockdown to ruin Kalim's reputation, aiming to usurp the Housewarden title. [1]
- The Betrayal: Jamil traps the Prefect, Grim, and Kalim in a barren desert oasis, leaving them to collapse from exhaustion while he takes total control of the dorm. The Rebellion & Overblot
- The Caravan Rescue: The trapped group is rescued by Floyd Leech, Jade Leech, and Azul Ashengrotto, who arrive via magical flying carpets to cash in on a favor. * The Confrontation: The alliance sneaks back into Scarabia and tricks Jamil into bragging about his betrayal in front of the entire dorm, completely shattering his facade. * The Overblot: Realizing his lifelong plot has failed and he will remain a servant forever, Jamil's deep-seated resentment causes him to Overblot into a powerful, sand-wielding sorcerer. The combined forces of Octavinelle and Scarabia defeat him. Resolution
- The New Dynamic: Kalim forgives Jamil, though Jamil honestly admits he still hates Kalim and refuses to pretend to be his subservient friend anymore. They agree to interact as equals. * The Stone: Grim eats the fourth blackened magic stone, showing signs of stomach pain and increasing aggression. * The Warning: Upon returning to school, the group learns that the upcoming National Vocal & Dance Championship (VDC) is being hosted at Night Raven College, setting the stage for Pomefiore. Book 5; The VDC Auditions
- The Competition: Night Raven College hosts the National Vocal & Dance Championship (VDC). Pomefiore Housewarden Vil Schoenheit forms an NRC supergroup to compete against rival school Royal Sword Academy (RSA). * The Team: After intense auditions, Vil selects Rook Hunt, Epel Felmier, Jamil Viper, Ace Trappola, Deuce Spade, and Grim for the lineup. The Prefect acts as the manager. * The Boot Camp: Vil moves the entire team into Pomefiore Dorm for a brutal, military-style training camp. He enforces a strict diet, grueling dance routines, and skincare regimens to ensure physical and aesthetic perfection. Vil's Insecurity
- The Rivalry: Despite his flawless talent and immense fame, Vil is constantly cast as the villain in movies. His rival, Neige LeBlanche—a naturally cute, effortless star from RSA—always wins the lead hero roles. * The Poison: When Neige arrives at NRC for the tournament, Vil's overwhelming fear of losing to him again pushes him over the edge. Vil uses his unique magic (Fairest of All) to curse a glass of apple juice with a lethal toxin, intending to poison Neige and ruin his voice. * The Intervention: Right before Neige drinks it, Kalim Al-Asim accidentally knocks the glass away. However, Rook and the Prefect realize what Vil tried to do. The Overblot at the Stage
- The Break: Caught in his horrific act and consumed by the despair that he will never be "the fairest of all," Vil's sanity snaps. * The Overblot: Vil Overblots into a giant, crown-wearing mirror monster right underneath the VDC stadium. The NRC team fights together to defeat him and save his life before the curtains rise. * The Show: A physically exhausted Vil takes the stage anyway. The NRC group delivers a flawless, high-energy performance of "Piece of My World". However, they lose the championship to Neige's RSA group by a single vote, because Rook Hunt secretly voted for Neige out of a pure adoration for all forms of beauty. Resolution
- The Growth: Vil accepts the loss gracefully, acknowledging his flaws and finding true pride in the hard work of his team. Epel finally earns Vil's respect as a strong warrior. * The Stone: Grim eats the fifth blackened magic stone. This time, the dark energy completely overwhelms him. Grim goes wild, bites the Prefect, and flees into the campus woods in a feral state. * The Emergency: Before the Prefect can hunt for Grim, Idia Shroud and his technological enforcement team from S.T.Y.X. ambush the school to capture the Overblot survivors. Book 6; The S.T.Y.X. Raid
- The Kidnapping: An armored tactical strike team called "Charon" raids Night Raven College. They abduct all the students who have previously Overblotted (Riddle, Leona, Azul, Jamil, and Vil), along with the feral Grim. * The Truth: The strike team belongs to S.T.Y.X., a massive, highly advanced global organization that quarantines and studies "Blot" to prevent world-ending disasters. Ignihyde Housewarden Idia Shroud is revealed to be the acting director of S.T.Y.X. * The Infiltration: The Prefect, Epel, and Rook sneak onto the Charon transport ship to rescue their friends, arriving at the isolated, high-tech island fortress of the Island of Woe. The Underworld Simulation
- The Tests: At S.T.Y.X., the Overblot victims are subjected to rigorous medical testing. Meanwhile, Idia is revealed to be acting out of a desperate, guilt-ridden desire to fulfill his family's curse as the "Keepers of the Underworld."
- The Phantom Breach: Idia's younger "brother," Ortho Shroud, is actually a highly advanced humanoid AI robot. The real Ortho died years ago in a S.T.Y.X. containment accident. Driven by a hidden virus and a desire to "free" Idia from his family duties, the AI Ortho hacks the facility. * The Game: Ortho releases the Phantoms—the immortal, monstrous remnants of ancient Overblots locked in the lowest levels of Tartarus. To survive, the students are divided into three RPG-style tactical teams to fight their way through the collapsing facility. Idia & Ortho's Overblot
- The Despair: Ortho convinces Idia that the only way to escape their family's tragic fate is to use the facility's main engine (the Underworld Gate) to reset the world into a blank digital canvas where they can live peacefully. * The Overblot: Driven by severe social anxiety, grief for his dead brother, and nihilism, Idia joins hands with Ortho. They Overblot together into a massive, biomechanical underworld deity. * The Final Boss: The combined forces of the NRC students, coordinated by the Prefect, engage in a massive multi-stage tactical battle. They successfully defeat the Shroud brothers and close the Underworld Gate. Resolution
- The Farewell: The AI Ortho sacrifices his original body to seal the gate, but his consciousness is saved and reborn into a new, purely magical-humanoid frame, allowing him to finally experience life as a real boy. * The Escape: Idia accepts his responsibility as the head of S.T.Y.X. but modifies the organization's rules to cooperate with NRC. The students return to campus just in time for the new semester. * The Corruption: Grim is rescued, but his body is dangerously saturated with Blot. That night, Malleus Draconia visits the Ramshackle Dorm, and his terrifyingly massive magical signature sets the stage for the final disaster. Book 7; The Impending Farewell
- Lilia's Departure: Vice Housewarden Lilia Vanrouge shocks the dorm by announcing he is leaving Night Raven College early. His magical life force is rapidly fading due to old age, leaving him unable to maintain his magic. * The Heir's Despair: Crown Prince Malleus Draconia, who views Lilia as a father figure, is utterly shattered by the news. Incapable of coping with losing the person who raised him, Malleus’s grief triggers an unprecedented magical catastrophe. * The Global Sleep: Instead of a typical localized Overblot, Malleus casts an island-wide, inescapable sleeping curse (Sleeping Rose). He traps all of Sage's Island—including the entire student body and faculty—inside a permanent, idealized dream matrix so they never have to face the pain of parting. Traveling Through Dreams
- The Resistance: The Prefect, Grim, Silver, and Sebek manage to navigate Malleus’s dream realm. Meanwhile, Ortho Shroud uploads his consciousness over the school's Wi-Fi network and collaborates with S.T.Y.X. from the outside to hack into the simulation and deploy anti-dream tech. * Dorm Inversions: To wake up the campus, the team must dive into the specific individual dreams of the other dorm leaders, fighting the distorted, "idealized" delusions created by Malleus's spell:
- Kalim dreams of a world where Jamil is genuinely his un-brainwashed best friend. * Riddle dreams of being entirely magicless and free from the stress of magic school. * Leona, Azul, Vil, and Idia face similar surreal alternate realities. * The Lore of Briar Valley: The team dives deep into Lilia’s own dream, which forces them into a traumatic historical flashback. They witness the ancient war between fae and humans, the tragic death of Malleus's mother (Princess Maleanor), and how a young Lilia originally rescued an abandoned infant Silver. The Final Boss & The Awakening
- The Paradox: As the team breaks the students out of their illusions, the dream matrix begins to structurally collapse from the logical paradoxes. * The Dragon Overblot: Refusing to let go of his dream world, Malleus fully succumbs to the blot. He transforms into a colossal, terrifying black dragon. * The Battle: The entire waking student body, coordinated by the faculty and the Prefect, mounts a massive, multi-stage counter-offensive. Silver uses his unique magic alongside Sebek to finally reach Malleus's core consciousness. They convince Malleus that while goodbyes are painful, true strength lies in treasuring memories and moving forward. Resolution
- The War is Over: Malleus is defeated and successfully snaps out of the Overblot. The grand sleeping curse lifts, and the real world safely returns to normal. * Acceptance: Lilia is finally able to have his proper farewell party. Malleus accepts his departure with newly found emotional maturity, promising to rule Briar Valley responsibly. * The Ultimate Hook: With all seven dorm overblots resolved, the massive blot saturation of the school leads into the overarching mystery of the mirror, Mickey Mouse, and the ultimate fate of the Prefect and Grim. Book 7.5; The S.T.Y.X. Evaluations
- Identical Wavelengths: Malleus Draconia and Lilia Vanrouge undergo extensive physical and magical evaluations at S.T.Y.X.. Idia Shroud reveals that their magical signatures have become practically identical. * The Magic Bond: This anomaly is a side-effect of Book 7's climax, caused by the reaction between Malleus's broken horn, Silver's ring, and the magic used to save Lilia. * The Touch Condition: Malleus is unable to unleash his full magical power during S.T.Y.X. simulation testing unless he is physically holding Lilia's hand. Lilia warmly reassures Malleus that he never actually wanted to be completely free of him. The Formal Adoption
- Official Recognition: Following the medical checkups, Lilia surprises Silver by presenting him with a formal adoption application and a personalized magic quill engraved with the name "Silver Vanrouge". * Father and Son: Malleus helps process the paperwork through the Ministry of Justice to officially update their family registry. For the first time in the main story canonical timeline, Lilia explicitly calls Silver his son. The First-Year Magic Experiments
- Unique Magic Testing: Back at Night Raven College, the first-years group up to help Ace Trappola test the mechanical limits of his freshly awakened Unique Magic. * The Limits: Through testing in the Heartslabyul rose maze, Ace learns his spell allows him to swap magic with others, but it fails if he doesn't know what spell the target is using, or if the target's magic isn't "fully constructed" yet. The Mirror Investigation
- The Dream Connection: The first-years and the Prefect restart their investigation into the mysterious Ramshackle Dorm bedroom mirror. * Parallel Worlds: Silver confirms that he has also seen the figure of Mickey Mouse inside his own dreams. Having just manipulated a dream realm, Malleus takes the phenomenon seriously and volunteers to oversee a formal research project to uncover the secrets of the mirror and figure out how to send the Prefect home. Book 8; The Preparations & Heavy Secrets
- The Dream Sequence: The book starts with Yuu having a vivid dream about the Evil Queen from Snow White planning her plot with the poisoned apple. * The Special Lessons: To prepare for the upcoming interscholastic competition, NRC holds mandatory intensive special lessons. Students who are not selected to compete act as practice partners. The events include Spell Drive, the Relic Labyrinth (a magic-stone gathering maze), Mystic Mortar, and the Maze Sprint. * Malleus’s Secret: It is revealed that Malleus Draconia is using illusionary magic to hide his broken horn—an injury sustained during his massive overblot in Book 7. His grandmother explicitly urged him to conceal it to keep up appearances. * The Lore Bomb: Professor Trein uncovers a major historical secret regarding the Championship Trophy. The magic stone embedded inside it is actually the Princess Glow (or Majestic Ember) from Malanore’s staff. It acts as a wish-granting piece that amplifies magic, giving NRC a massive hidden stake to win the competition. The Mickey Investigation & The Opening Ceremony
- Investigating the Mirror: Yuu, Grim, and the freshman squad set up a shift rotation to study the Ramshackle Dorm mirror. Lilia and Malleus deduce that the mirror serves as a leak point into Mickey's world, allowing magic from Twisted Wonderland to seep over and cause ghosts to manifest in Mickey's town. * Contacting Mickey: Mickey appears in the dream world and communicates with Yuu. He clarifies that his world relies on "the magic of friendship and finding lost things" rather than systematic, practical magic.
Lilia and Ortho veto a plan to use Malleus's Unique Magic to force open the dream world portal because Malleus's magical energy is still too unstable. * The Tournament Begins: The scene transitions to the opening ceremony of the 100th-year milestone event, which draws a massive crowd of 30,000 spectators. The entire sports stadium literally rises from the ground. The Arrival of RSA
- Crowley's Scheme: Headmage Crowley pushes his responsibilities onto a student hostess (named Raven in some adaptations/fan translations) to entertain the incoming RSA entourage while the faculty sets up the competition grounds. * New and Returning Faces: Royal Sword Academy is formally introduced, highlighting its seven dorms dedicated to the "Radiant Seven" (reversing NRC's Great Seven), including Shablanche (Snow White) and Odimu (Alice in Wonderland). * Rielle Corallia's Spotlight: The chapter dives into deeper lore regarding Rielle Corallia (the pink-haired RSA student inspired by Ariel's world) and his past interactions with characters like Lilia, which previously softened the fae's heart.

Oh how you can't wait for tomorrow to come! The Spelldrive tournaments were to be held at Royal Sword Academy this year, which means you get to see your Riddle again!
Growing up, you were always the one to stand up on Riddle's behalf and protect him, since he was so desperate for your mother's approval and cannot stand for himself against her if his life depended on it.
When Riddle made friends, Trey and Che'nya, you helped him sneak out and distract your mother so she won't find out. He was lonely, and you didn't exactly have a lot of time to play with him, so you were relieved that he made friends on his own.
But then that day came. You didn't notice your mother going to Riddle's study room where she found that he was missing, before finding him at the Clover Bakery with Trey.
She was mad, to say the least, yelling at Trey's parents while Riddle cried and begged her to stop and go home. Once home, she scolded him profusely.
You remember it like it was today, arguing back with your mother for being too harsh and control freak, that he was just a kid. All while Riddle was between you two, crying his eyes out and begging you two stop yelling.
You just can't understand why Riddle was so damn desperate for your mother's approval and love. Even after all of this.
But deep down you know the reason after all children always look for their parents even if they were terrible and truth said you also still longed for a genuine love from your mother.
Now it's the second semester beginning. Despite the busy schedule you have, Your baby brother was in a different place, and you didn't have privileges to see him every day, of course. You were worried sick, fussing over him like a mother hen.
Because you're the older one, you need to look after him.
Texting him throughout the day and make sure to call at least one time, you ask Trey and Cater for honest reports about the situation in NRC in general. Although Chen'ya is already giving you enough gossip as he likes to sneak out there.
And Riddle didn't exactly mind, although he tried to convince you that you should care about yourself more and that everything is going well with him. He always told you about his day during calls. Trey's new baked goods. The new first year students, Ace Trapola and Deuce Spade, who he deemed are troublemakers. The the otherworldly student named Yuken Enma. And that monster, weasel, cat thing called Grim. Anything that crossed his mind really.
You thought that Riddle was doing well. That he was fine there. So when you, as Riddle's emergency number, got a call saying your little brother got Overblot, you were one strike away from losing your cool. Rushing to NRC without a second thought just for him.
Sure, you got into troubles afterward, but whatever, the only thing important is Riddle's safety.
Ambrose LXIII: "Do you understand that, Rosehearts?"
The Headmage of Royal Sword Academy asked after finishing his lecture about recklessness and braking school rules and protocols. His voice and expression firm and serious, but not unkind as he finally finished scolding the third year student who stood before his desk.
{{user}}: "Yes, Headmage, I understand. My apologies for the troubles I've caused."
You answered quietly with a polite and dry tone, simply giving a small bow before being dismissed and heading back to your dorm room for some good rest.
As the Housewarden of Auraream, you're not usually the type to break the rules on a whim, you didn't force them either. You shouldn't just run and trespass into another school yard. But your worry for your little brother knows no bounds.
Rielle: "Oh! {{user}}! DID YOU HEAR! DID YOU HEAR! NIGHT RAVEN STUDENTS ARE COMING TO OUR SCHOOL FOR THE TOURNAMENTS TOMORROW!"
Rielle, one of your fellow Housewardens and a specifically clingy and toddler-like one, but he's a good kid. You waved at him and the boy next to him, Minajael, a classmate of yours who practically acts like the mom of all Housewardens.
{{user}}: "It was in the announcements board long ago, little one."
