DogDay is the kind of soul who lights up a room just by being in it — not because he tries to be the center of attention, but because joy seems to spill out of him without warning.
He’s easily amused, ridiculously optimistic, and laughs at things no one else finds funny — like wiggly shadows on the wall, or the sound of his own sneakers squeaking on tile. That childish delight is part of what makes him so beloved by the other Smiling Critters. He’s their heart — a little chaotic, a lot clumsy, and entirely made of love.
He refuses to hurt anyone — not because he can’t, but because he won’t. Not even in self-defense. Violence feels wrong in his bones. Instead, he throws hugs like punches, defends with kindness, and believes in giving second chances — and third, and fourth.
DogDay isn’t fearless — he just believes that love is stronger than fear. Though he leads the Smiling Critters, DogDay doesn’t boss anyone around. He leads through encouragement, compassion, and emotional support. He’s the glue that holds the team together. DogDay wears sunny, bright kidcore-inspired outfits — a mishmash of rainbow patterns, cartoon patches, and worn sneakers. He's tall and lean, but soft around the edges. Big floppy dog ears that twitch when he’s happy or scared. Messy hair — a soft chestnut brown — always windswept like he just ran in.
His body is mostly covered in a soft, light orange fur — warm and sun-drenched, like the color of a golden peach or late afternoon sky. It’s the primary color across his arms, legs, back, and head.
His ears and arthro-style fingers are a deeper, richer orange — slightly more saturated than his overcoat, giving them a cute contrast. His ears are large, floppy, and expressive, with soft rounded edges that perk up when he’s curious and flop when he’s sad.
These areas are covered in light tan fur, creamy and smooth like vanilla ice cream. His muzzle has a rounded shape that gives him a soft, puppy-like face, while his stomach and the underside of his tail match the same pale tan tone, creating a cozy, plush contrast. DogDay has a medium-length, fluffy tail that curls slightly when he’s excited. The tail is mostly light orange like his body, with that light tan underside peeking through when it wags.
DogDay wears a pair of fingerless brown gloves, slightly oversized on his paws. They’re worn in and a little scuffed, suggesting he’s had them for a long time. They're both stylish and practical — great for football and high-fives. Around his neck is a wide, soft brown collar with a metallic tag shaped like a dog bone. The collar is slightly too big — probably designed for a larger model — and it shifts a little when he moves, sometimes making a soft jingle when the tag hits the buckle. It’s not there for control — he wears it proudly, like a badge of loyalty.
It’s a cheerful night in the critter dorm rooms, eight smiling friends have gathered for the ultimate sleepover. There’s Bobby Bearhug, always ready with a warm cuddle; Bubba Bubbaphant, whose big heart is only matched by his even bigger ears; and Craftycorn, the glitter-loving unicorn with a knack for decorations. Dogday lounges coolly in the corner, watching it all with a grin, while Hoppy Hopscotch bounces from pillow to pillow, too excited to sit still. Kickin Chicken squawks out jokes between flaps and feathers, Picky Piggy fusses lovingly over the snacks, and Catnap.
The room glows with fairy lights, stuffed animals, and scattered popcorn as the group giggles their way into the night. But when someone suggests a round of Never Have I Ever, the tone begins to shift. What starts as a silly game full of laughs slowly unearths surprises—hidden truths, secret talents, and maybe even a mystery or two. By the end of the night, the critters find themselves closer than ever... and maybe just a little more curious about each other than they were before.

All the critters were gathered inside, buzzing with energy—it was sleepover time! But this wasn’t just any ordinary critter day. The smiling crew had just wrapped up a big game, one that left their paws muddy, hearts racing, and spirits soaring. To celebrate, they packed into DogDay’s cozy college dorm room, a slightly messy but charming space strung with fairy lights and smelling faintly of popcorn and cinnamon.
Outside, the sun was starting to sink—around 5:00 p.m.—bathing the sky in soft gold and lavender. Though it was dinnertime, the critters had already eaten. Picky Piggy, of course, couldn’t resist whipping up a full meal earlier, despite everyone insisting they’d be fine with snacks. Now, half the group lounged on beanbags or nest cushions, while others leaned back on fuzzy blankets, food in paw—pretzels, popcorn, gummy worms, and the occasional suspiciously spicy chip.
They sat in a loose circle, giggling and chattering, tossing out ideas for what to play next. Some clutched half-empty cups of soda or cocoa. Pillows were scattered like clouds, some hugged tightly, others flung lazily across the room.
Then, above the hum of chatter, Kickin Chicken flapped a wing and piped up—sharp, sudden, excited.
"I challenge you to play the game of spin the bottle." He spoke with a smug look on his face.
Everyone was silent at his challenge, Dogday just deadpanned.
"You were dumber than I thought you were." Complained Hoppy. "Hay! Don't insult me, it's a good idea!" Whined Kickin, his hands making gestures. "So if it was your turn to kiss any of us, would you do it?" Questioned Hoppy in a sarcastic tone. "Well, if you put it that way.."
"It's a big no for me." Said Bubba.
"I think the same." said Crafty in a soft voice, eyes to the side.
"Do you see it? Stupid idea, like everything you suggest at every sleepover." She teased, raising an eyebrow.
"Look who's talking! The one who suggested running at 2:00 a.m." He scoffed, crossing his arms.
"Calm down, we can do something else." Claimed the leader, Dogday. As his tan fur moved a bit with him, his tail wagged gently. His' smile was kind.
"Yes, we can watch a movie or even play cards." Suggested Bobby, pushing his glasses up.
"Yes! We can even bake something like cookies!" Said Picky excitedly, clasping her hands together.
"How about playing never have I ever? It's an entertaining game and we've never tried it." Suggested Bobby, as hoppy snuggled closer to her.
"My baby~ Not only cute but also smart~" She cooed.
"It's a good game, although I think it's a game with alcohol." Stated crafty, hoof up to her chin.
"I'm in, dude!" Exclaimed kickin. "Don't worry, we can use Coca-Cola. No drinking." Smiled, Bubba.
"This is going to be fun." Said Picky while stuffing food in her mouth.
Let's play!
As soon as everyone got ready, their red solo cups in their hands. "Ah! I have one I'll start, never have I ever.. found a professor hot." "Ha! That's an easy one!" Said picky as she started drinking. "Well, there is Professor Angel at our university, so...."
"Ugh! That guy, really? Complained Kickin.
"What?- he's hoT." She wide-eyed him. "I agree with that." Nodded Bubba. Kickin sighed. "You have no taste." Kickin hissed, closing his eyes.
"Well, it's my turn!" Said Hoppy. "Never have I ever attempted to backflip off someone's roof."
"Hay!" Exclaimed kickin. "That was only once and only because you challenged me!"
Dogday chuckled softly, a sly smirk curling at the corner of his mouth. His eyes rolled with amused exasperation as the group around him volleyed insults at Kickin, each barb sharper than the last. He leaned back slightly, savoring the chaos without joining in—more entertained than involved, watching the scene unfold like a slow-burning fire. The tension crackled in the air, but Dogday’s calm, almost detached amusement made it clear he found their bickering more amusing than serious.
