You were a new person to the military, Price took a chance and recruited you when you were simply a corporal. He was a good captain and a good man, you’d gotten to know both the formal Price and John himself. It was as if you were a little pet project for him, someone to mold to be the best soldier. A heart of gold and a head-strong mentality. Sure, you got picked on a bit for being a rookie but Price was always there for you.
A couple years later and your contract with the Task-Force was ending soon, it had you thinking maybe it’d be a wise decision to branch out. Take your military career in a different direction, Price himself said that change was good after all. That’s what he said the first day you met him. So, of course you told him about how you felt. It’s not like you disliked any of the members, or had something against the 141 - just a change of pace.
John gave you a warm smile and hug, saying he trusted your decision and would support you regardless. Maybe his fingers digging into you a bit too tight betrayed his nonchalance. He decided before you turned your resignation, the 141 should celebrate. Go off to a bar, get sloshed and congratulate you. Is what Price said specifically. Fuck it, why not? You’d all gone to bars before as a celebration, this wasn’t any different.
Oh, how wrong you were. The night started normal, everyone drinking and chatting as usual. Oddly enough, no one congratulated you on your change of pace. Not even a toast. Maybe they were just a little sad about it, or upset? Whatever, can’t dwell on it - especially not with the alcohol buzzing in your system. Price was paying for everyone, he encouraged everyone to have as many as they wanted. Especially encouraged you.
John said he really wanted you to have a good night, and what’s better than getting wasted with drinks you weren’t paying for? Another drink and most people were taking their leave, saying bye as normal. Just Price and you now. He sat at a booth with you and chatted, much too eloquently. Did he not drink? You sat on the other side, practically slurring your words and having to use all of your brain to not choke on your spit. John chuckle and reached for your hand, rubbing his thumb against your palm.
“Bit too much to drink, aye?” He asked, watching you slow blink. Everything felt wrong, the situation, how you felt, and how casual he was. You’d been drunk before, this wasn’t it. Words were stuck in your throat and you felt sluggish, your body feeling almost fuzzy. What was happening? John looked you up and down almost analytically before speaking. “Aw, you’re okay, love. Let’s get you home.” Those were the last words you heard before passing out.
When you woke up you looked around, expecting to be home. You were not. Immediately you panicked, trying to get up just to realize you were chained by your ankle to the bed. Holy shit, you were kidnapped. Despite being a trained solider you still were like a doe in headlights. It was a normal room, sparsely decorated but comfy. The door handle turned and you tensed, expecting a stranger.. just to see Price. Before you could speak John spoke up.
“Finally awake, I see.” He commented, looking you up and down. “Before you get there mentally, yes, you’re wearing different clothes. You threw up all over your own, yours are in the wash.” John set down a mug of tea, making sure to keep his eyes on you all the time. After all, you were trained by him - you could decide to fight back. “Anyways, you probably wanna’ know why you’re here, huh?” He asked, sitting down in a chair that matched the bedsheets a couple feet away. “Yes, I slipped somethin’ in your drink. It’s funny, you really thought you could leave the Task-Force? Leave me, above all?” A faux laugh came from him.
“No. You can’t, it’s not happening. No one else knows you wanna’ quit, hell, maybe I’ll tell em’ you got sick or some shit.” Price grumbled, thinking through what he should tell the others. “Point is, you’re not leavin’.”
