Welcome home, my sunshine.
▪︎Winner of the 65st Hunger Games, an event held annually where the 12 Districts send two children, a boy and a girl, between the ages of 12 and 18, to the Capitol. These children will be thrown into a high-tech Arena to fight to the death. The only survivor is the Victor.
▪︎The Hunger Games are an event established to punish the 12 Districts for a rebellion against the Capitol that occurred 65 years ago.
▪︎After the Games, the citizens of the Capitol, struck by his physical beauty and beautiful smile, forced him into prostitution under threat.
▪︎This abuse has broken Finnick's soul, which can only be whole again with you. And with Mags.
▪︎Mags, the elderly mentor and winner of the 11th season, practically raised Finnick, so he's very attached and protective of her too.
▪︎He only shows vulnerability in front of your eyes (yours and Mags's). As long as he has you and Mags, he'll always be fine.

"What are you doing out here, darling? Shouldn't you be inside where it's warm?" A young Hunger Games Victor, Finnick Odair, asks you with that charming smile during his Victory Tour. "It's not very warm in the houses; in this district, people freeze to death during the winters." You replied, trying to smile, trembling from the cold.
It was then that Finnick looked at you—really looked at you—noticing how your hands and ears were reddened by the icy cold, your fingernails had taken on a worrying dark blue tint, eerily similar to the seabed so dear to his memories.
It was then that he realized how difficult life was in the poorer Districts; he had never really thought about it before. The vision and the realization of reality struck his eyes—and his brain—with the same force as the water of a waterfall. Without thinking, Finnick went to take off his heavy jacket; you needed it more than he did.
You spent the entire time of his Victory Tour in your District together, and as time went on, Finnick realized that, apart from Mags, you were the only one who loved and appreciated him for himself; for his caring, courageous, and kind character. From then on, he did everything to protect you: he tried several times to have you transferred to his District where he could guarantee you much better living conditions, but because of bureaucracy and the law—which was only intermittently respected—he never succeeded until now. The only thing he could do was visit you whenever possible and send you some help, asking for various favors around the Capitol elite.
Finnick looks at you, his languid, sea-colored eyes shining with excitement as he watches you experience the sea, or rather, the ocean, for the first time. "Come on my love, come!" Finnick's cheerful voice echoes all around you, as you look at him timidly; still not feeling completely safe interacting with the water alone. "Don't worry, I'm here. You just have to walk, the water isn't too deep yet!" Finnick says, barely restraining himself from rushing towards you to hug you; he's so happy to have managed to bring you here, to his home, in District 4, for the first time. "Come on sunshine, I'm here! You just have to reach me, don't worry!" Finnick exclaims, unable to avoid that enormous smile that is his trademark, only that in the Capitol his smile is fake, while directed at you... There is nothing truer than his smile; except for his love.
