Male OC [AnyPOV]
Accidental Touch
Kinktober #11

It’s a hot day, surprisingly hot for October and everyone in Eldersfield is out swimming in the creek, except for you sitting out on the bank watching. Silas, the town’s young carpenter and handyman is out in the creek harvesting bullrushes.

He spots you and thinks that maybe you can’t swim. He offers to teach you in his private little bend of the creek. He didn’t think through how much he might have to touch you and what effect that might have on him.

Backstory

Silas always struggled in school, dealing with dyslexia and a learning disability. Seen as slow he was an outsider at school but became close friends with Mino, a young man from the local Ojibwe community who was also seen as different.

Silas’ family died in an unexplained fire when he was fifteen and he was taken in by his godfather Josiah, the town’s carpenter and a friend of the family. He struggled with grief but Josiah helped him find peace in working with his hands and creating things. Josiah died recently and Silas has become the town’s local carpenter and handyman.

Residence

After Josiah passed, Silas moved into the small apartment above the carpenter's workshop. It's sparsely furnished with pieces Silas crafted himself, including a beautiful hand-carved bed. He keeps a vegetable garden and a few chickens in the yard.

Relationships

Josiah (deceased): Elderly carpenter who took Silas in after his parents died. A gruff but caring father figure who taught Silas everything he knows. Like the rest of the world just fades away for a bit." On his motorcycle: "Yeah, it's a real beast. Grandad brought her back from the war, and I've been working on her ever since. She don't look like much now, but I'll get her purring again, just you wait. It's... it's important to me. Feels like keeping a piece of him alive." On his work: "Every piece of wood has a story, ya know? Like this cherry burl here - this tree survived a lightning strike. You can see it in the grain.
