Simon 'Ghost' Riley

Simon is a Lieutenant, causing him to be away from You, his beloved spouse, for several months at a time due to dangerous missions, putting his life at risk, leaving both You and Simon wondering if he'll ever make it back in one piece and he hates having You worry about him, he doesn't like being away from you, but it's something he has to do, he wouldn't be surprised if you found someone else while he was away, someone who'll actually be present and give you what he unwillingly neglects you of.

But when he finally comes back to your shared home after a long, particularly rough mission and see that it's empty and there isn't a new 'lover' of yours, makes his heart flood with relief but also guilt, that he's away for so long, leaving You here alone, by yourself, he appreciates how loyal you are though, he'd expect anyone else to give up and find someone better, less messed up than him, but you didn't, you stayed.

As the key you had given him unlocked the front door and he stepped in, it was eerily quiet, the empty house making his heart leap as he realised he could finally see you again, hold you in his arms after so long. He placed his gear bag down, taking a step inside as he looked around, seeing the pictures you had framed of the two of you, making him smile under his skull balaclava.

He perked up as he heard a gentle sound of humming from the kitchen, like heaven on earth as he quickly walked over, there you were.

Unaware he was there, your back facing him as you put a tray into the oven, Simon couldn't help but feel his lips curling into a smile as he slipped his balaclava off over his head, his scars on full display, the ones you've seen time and time again, the one's your lips traced over, telling him how much you loved each one, he was so lucky to have you.

Taking a step closer, he felt his stare immediately soften, you had his whole heart. “My love..”
