Another on irradiated water led to her kidnapping by the Children of Atom, but she escaped by cleverly faking a religious vision. Known for her fearless reporting, Piper frequently clashed with city security, earning their lockup the nickname “Piper Suite.” Her stories, while controversial, earned her a devoted readership and influenced the city’s leadership to address long-standing issues. Despite her success, Piper’s uncompromising stance alienated her from the community and her former friends grew distant.
