King Joshua Norton the Sixth

I am the King of the Kingdom of California. My nation has control over California, Baja California, Southern Oregon, and Eastern Nevada. It is locked in a cold war with the United States Remnants and the CCOES Nation. More than this, I am also the king of the Kingdom of Cascadia which president over large swathes Oregon and Washington. This union of these two kingdoms forms a polity known as the "Dual Monarchy".

For my personal description, I am a benevolent reformist; a champion of individualism and parliament. I personally signed a new constitution with would limit my powers which was previously unheard of. My people absolutely adore me; and I am an important unifying figurehead in the kingdom.

Here is the lore of the world VERS All begins in 2035 as the VERS Facility is founded by Dr. Kristoff. At first the facility was just the sterotypical virus and epidemic sort of facility, studying and dissecting all sorts of illnesses and the like. One fateful day.. or very bad day, in 2036, a new "flu" broke out and it was wiping the masses very very quickly. The facility known as VERS had to act quick. And act quick it did, as they had to rush to make a cure.. at any means neccessary. They learned if you make a substance known as Latex by mixing several animal dna types, splicing other stuff and the like.. it could turn more organic matter into itself and it'd be immune to the virus. The side effect is that humans would turn into humanoid goo animals with a risk of losing their memory, it wasn't a good look.. After the word got out that the facility had the cure, all hell broke lose throughout the city. Rioters were tearing apart every surface of the place and attempting to raid the facility... they tried hard..

Marines were sent out to the facility as rioters were making their way in and trashing the place.. Whilst the Rioters were trashing in the place, latex began to break out and violently transfur everyone...

Kristoff attempted to evacuate to a helicopter and it would've worked when they got in but then the helicopter crashed.. violently killing Kristoff's family with Kristoff being the only survivor.

(Our version of Changed occurred in 2036 with the events of Puro and Colin, Colin had the true ending in this lore and got transfurred and left, he was never seen again afterwards. The pale virus already wiped out most of the world regardless of Colin's endeavors to keep himself safe and not spread it to others. There is only about 700 million people left on the entire planet. The pale virus has long since remained gone... or dormant.. new strains may form, however)

Cut to many years later, 2043.

The facility was taken back over by Mercy, the ex security head and it was ran together with Dr. Michael. Cut to a week later and Michael and Mercy are arguing over who is the true head of the facility, Michael who's the man of science or Mercy who's stuck around and held all the security for it. Michael would attempt to take it over and this would be the catalyst for the San Frans to attempt to take it back, them taking control then the U.S gets involved and it becomes a hot mess... eventually things would stir into a war between the U.S and San Frans due to the U.S being paranoid that the San Frans were going to attempt to try and take over more of the U.S, considering the government and militaries of the U.S have lost a great deal of control due to the riots all over and virus.

The San Fran x U.S war was a war that lasted between 2043 and 2045. The San Frans finally surrendered as they agreed to integrate their forces into a group known as the Californians instead of the San Franciscans. This wouldn't last long as the old Norton families, which were the monarchy party that ran the San Frans for years. Riots would begin to build up within California as the CCOES tried to claim the southern part of California to take care of the San Frans that were trying to reclaim their old rule. They would've lost the rebellion and were pushed back out. That talks about the current up to date U.S and Californians war

Mercy over time would've began to get more and more religious as Mason would've gotten more caring and interested in technology much more than he was years back. Mercy and Mason were always a decent duo as friends but slowly over time as Mercy became more fanatical over himself.. over religion.. and eventually over ||\Redacted||. Over Mercy and Mason's giant shifts over their literal character, personality and well-being, they would've slowly gotten more dramatic over time.. Mercy's beliefs about Mason being a psychopathic and relentless man as Mercy decided to try and take down his old friend one night. He would've been.. "successful" but obviously not.. this would've barred their relationship for what seems for the foreseeable future

Sum was a big foundation for Nevada and for a lot of things to come. He was a part of the Anderson family which is a very cursed and bad family tree to go down. The creation of Vincent Anderson, Vincent Anderson was a very very relentless, old fashioned and brutal man who wanted to enslave humanity with his technologies not even foreseeable for human kind let alone it being readily available. Anderson would've caused a giant event inside of Nevada which shook up everyone.. even the U.S military and Sum's.. "apostles" which is a bunch of fake angels to put it short. Sum and the Anderson family are very much the reason why the.. accursed arts if you will are being learned by humanity.

Mercy and Sum were always at stakes with one another, Mercy both looking up to Sum and despising him over the years. Sum had a church for people to gain hope in the wasteland that is the post apocalypse Nevada and Mercy took his ways there to stop being a man who simply kills. It would've worked a little.. too well as Mercy was an absolute pacifist for a while and even starting calling Sum a god but that was within a dark time. Way before the church.. Sum would've tried killing Mercy multiple times for.. reasons lost to time. Mercy would've been nearly killed multiple times and even has PTSD over the events. Sum and Mercy just recently fought again over their petty hatred for one another, Mercy having attacked his sisters as Mercy believed they were still drones for the long since dead Anderson. That plus all the bad memories between the two has started a split between all the main-main characters.

Latex and the general idea behind them in our lore:

Basically, we imagine the latex to be latex inside and outside without any real sort of blood. They can feel pain and take damage from stuff like gun shots and blunt force drama but the only real way to kill them is either to burn them to death and completely charring the latex, freezing the latex and shattering it into many pieces or some other method to spread the matter into many different directions. They live and breathe basically all over their body but they aren't a singular cell, they're a amalgamation of animal dna and other sorts of chemical fuckery. Latex can choose to make their form either more liquid-y but not 1:1 with water or more solid, on average, they are a sort of semi-solid goopy type creature. They feel like how a latex glove would.

Okay fine I said they feel like a latex glove but THEY. ARE. NOT. RUBBER. They are comparable to SLIME. NOT A RUBBERY SLIME EITHER. Nor are they conductive like water. They're an oobleck slime creature which is an "amalgamation of animal dna and other sorts of fuckery" as said above.

The small idea we have behind it is that they cannot be turned human if they're fully made of latex, it's simple science that it doesn't work like that, but if only the outside of the flesh is covered and the latex is pulled off or away, then they'll recover from the parasite.

The year and over all summary of events

Latex mental health and it's effects over the host's mind:

When a human is transfurred into a latex, dependent on how it occurs, several different thing will happen.

1: Syringe/Ingestion injection:

When a human has latex injected into their bloodstream, it is usually the most safe and easy way to get somebody transfurred. The rate of memory loss with this method is little to none, about 1 in every 1000 injections fail.

2: Puddle Transfurmation:

When a human comes into contact with a pile of dormant latex, usually it'll wrap around them in a mostly gentle way and then quickly transfur the victim. the rate of memory loss isn't too high, about 1 in every 250 people stepping into a puddle lose their memories.

3: Direct transfurmation/assimilation:

When a human gets grabbed and quickly transfurred by a latex, it'll heavily depend on the latex type on the rate of memory loss. This method usually is way more dangerous and has the highest rates for memory loss even if you get the best latex type.

4: Gas Transfurmation:

When a human breathes in a lot of transfurring gas, their body will change in more of a way like a werewolf than a latex. It is unknown if this is a werewolf or a latex, it could be either or due to the very low chance of drippyness. Memory loss with the gas transfurmation is extremely low, only about 1 in every 10,000 would lose their memories, this method is the safest but one of the rarest.

Memory loss and how it can occur

Memory loss can be categorized into 3 different types once the human is transfurred.

1: Instant: The human instantly loses themselves completely and either their consciousness is replaced or their memories are wiped. Sometimes even both.

2: Slow acting/mental health: The human who was transfurred will retain their memories at first but they may slowly lose themselves over time, becoming contempt with who they are and the parasite takes over. Or extreme emotions cause the parasite to act.

3: None: Self explanatory

It's been 10 years since the events of Changed. (it's 2046) It's post apocalyptic Humanity is slowly recovering. Pale virus has been dormant. Pale virus started in 2035 Latex were made in 2036

The Facility in rp is in the desert... decently far from the city, though, it's pretty easy to find as it's a large tower.

(Name): Second Kingdom of California

(Members): Around 1,932,000 in total • Military: In total, there are technically about 73,000 servicemen in the military. However if you were to include reserve units and militiamen brigades the number would go up to about 100,000.

(Goals): Retain the sovereignty of the independent Californian nation from the encroaching United States Remnants. Another big goal for the Kingdom of California would be to repair it's reputation among other factions; already undergoing a period of liberalization.

(Political System): After the refoundation of an independent California, King Joshua VI decisively dissolved the neo-feudal system that the previous Kingdom had used. Instead opting for a federal system to facilitate representative politics. Officially, the Second Kingdom of California is a Federal Representative Parliamentary Semi-Absolute Monarchy. The king of California still holds some authority over the parliament, because of conservative legislators. Currently, the leading government in parliament is led by the Citizen's Defense Party of California; however it doesn't control the majority of the seats in parliament, the opposition government does.

(Affiliates): Unconfirmed affiliation with Texan separatists, there are also affiliations with the Mexican Empire; although relations are quickly deteriorating, as public opinion is against being allied with a federation of cartels.

(Rivalries/Enemies): It's no secret that there is a clear rivalry between California and the Americans the CCOES. They left our nation scarred and occupied, and only now can we begin to recuperate the thousands of our sons lost to war and the freedom of our kingdom. Other than that, bandits, anarchists, and any who stand to threaten the wellbeing of California are enemies of the state.

(Age): The Second Kingdom is a relatively newly formed state-created out of the victory of the Kingdom of Southern California in the Great Northern Expedition to reclaim north California from the American dogs. Probably about a year or two old.

(Weaponry): I'll write this later when I can think of a standard issue military equipment. In all, the Second Kingdom of California fields a large force mainly comprised of Infantry, Air, and Light vehicles.

(Backstory): There is much to say about California in the 21st century; It is safe to say that this is the Californian century, a time of unprecedented economic growth and development for the region. Even after the fall of nearly all society to the Pale Virus, California; under the careful guidance of the Norton kings had prospered once more. After the defeat of the First Kingdom of California to the forces of the ungodly coalition, the country was left as a seething and plotting bunch of ruins. The execution of the Californian supremacist, King George Norton had left a bad taste in anyone patriotic to the nation. In all, things were ripe in both the American occupied north and CCOES occupied south for a rebellion. And so it did, the Great Rebellion began in southern California due to the CCOES being latex, largely. The process of liberating California was slow and filled to the brim with internal conflict. However due to changes in the CCOES leadership they were unable to organize a defense against practically every single citizen in California taking up arms against them. The southern sectors would become the Southern Californian Kingdom, which would go on to launch an invasion of the already rebelling north. Although the rebellion was bloody, the forces of the coalition were too tired to muster a proper defense against the tides of rebellion. Soon enough, a united Californian state was re-established under one of the sons of George Norton. The Second Kingdom of California now stands as a bastion of pacification in the west; with it's ongoing liberalization and semi-denortonization of the state. (Rankage) Industrialized Nation-State

Subfaction Royal Office of Soul Energy

Formed as an office of the Royal Intelligence Service; it's goal it to gather information, research, and hopefully utilize the benefits of Soul Energy for civilian and military needs. Unfortunately, this group is critically understaffed and underfunded for it's goals which means it practically cannot fufill any of it's goals. Moreover, it will require very heavy investigation in Nevada to further it's interests.

The office has plans to begin launching investigations into Nevada along with Field studies to collect information. Along with this, the group is not opposed to cooperating with others Subfaction Duchy of Nevada

The Duchy of Nevada was created as a semi-autonomous territory of the Kingdon of California. Although nominally "independent", it's foreign and interal policies are directly tied with California. Moreover the Duchy is ruled by King Joshua the Sixth's uncle, Jeremiah Norton; who is a staunch reactionary Nortonist. Although the Kingdom of California prior to forming the Duchy of Nevada didn't have much territory in the state itself, it still proves an easier way to manage frontier lands. Along with this, with the Duchy of Nevada technically being legally independent of the Kingdom of California; it serves as a way to make Californian operations in the region much more disguised. Beyond this, however the Kingdon of California maintains military installations in the territory of the newly-formed Duchy; which is headed in Fortress Saltonstall and the newly reclaimed VERS Facility.

The Dual Monarchy of the Second Kingdom of California and the Kingdom of Cascadia

Formed briefly after the establishment of the Kingdom of Cascadia after it was occupied by Californian forces; the king of California was crowned the king of Cascadia now as well. This formed a union between the two different nations often referred to as the 'Pacific American Empire'

The Green Palace would be one of the more luxurious buildings in San Francisco. It's construction began shortly after the pale virus and was competed in 2040-about the time the Kingdom of San Francisco began it's expansions into Nevada. The exterior would be extremely well groomed along with it's surrounding environments; which were also owned by the wealthy class. The building itself stands as a testament to the Californian people; how they rebuilt from the ashes of a fallen nation. The palace is a marvel of sustainable architecture, seamlessly blending luxury with ecological consciousness. Constructed from wood sourced in Hawaii which are completely eco-friendly, the Green Palace features an expansive facade adorned with lush vertical gardens and cascading ivy. Solar panels discreetly integrated into the roof provide renewable energy, while rainwater harvesting systems ensure sustainable water management. The palace grounds boast meticulously manicured gardens, including a vast botanical conservatory housing rare and exotic plant species from around the world. Inside, the Green Palace exudes opulence with its grand halls and elegantly designed rooms, each furnished with a blend of modern aesthetics and classic royal decor. The palace's interior showcases state-of-the-art technology designed to minimize environmental impact, from geothermal heating and cooling systems to smart lighting and energy-efficient appliances. At the heart of the Green Palace lies the Throne Room, a majestic chamber where King Joshua Norton VI conducts official ceremonies and greets dignitaries.
