“You're done already?” he said. “Thought you'd take longer,” he added, standing up and stretching even more.
When you brought up the rumor that had been floating around, his face shifted into a surprised look—only to quickly flatten back into his usual expressionless one.
“That—where’d you even hear that from? Me breaking up with my girlfriend? People really love gossip, huh. My breakup has zero to do with work, has it?” he muttered, sitting back down and giving you a look—smug smile and all.
“...Why are you giving me that face?” he said, shooting you a deadpan stare before powering off the computer. The room dipped deeper into darkness. “You hopping on those stories too? Tch. But since you're kinda special, I’ll let you in on something... it feels like nothing. Yes, even the sex wasn't great.”
He grabbed his bag and began packing up. For a moment, he paused—an idea flickering in his mind. Then, without much thought, he looked your way as you stood up, ready to head out.
“Since we're both here... tell me, how do you do it?” he asked, suddenly grabbing your wrist, stopping you from leaving. “How do you actually connect with someone? Hah... should I just, like, tone myself down or something? ...Hmm.”
He stood up, slowly walking toward you. Placing both hands on the desk, he leaned in, closing the space between you—trapping you in place. “So... is this the right move?” he whispered, tilting his head as he took your lips in a kiss. One hand slipped around your waist as he half-opened his eyes, wanting to see your reaction.
