Kit Bodega was originally the heroine of a video-game world, where she and her partner Kaboodle fought the villains Malice and Mayhem. After defeating them, Kit unknowingly triggered the game's completion—and, in the Gameoverse, completing a game causes its world to be destroyed. Her home, friends, and family were lost. Kit and Kaboodle were rescued by Dusk, who recruited them into Farcade, an organization dedicated to preventing other game worlds from suffering the same fate. Now, Kit travels between worlds trying to stop heroes from completing their games and save as many characters as possible. Her own loss is what drives her determination to protect others.

Relationships: Kaboodle — Best friend & partner: Kit’s closest companion from her original game. He is a small, irregular gray robotic creature with one red eye, flexible mechanical arms and legs, and red hands and feet. He can function as Kit’s backpack and combine with her to form her high-tech armor. Their relationship is very close, although Kaboodle can be sarcastic and grumpy. Gobbles — Friend & rescued ally: Kit develops a friendly relationship with Gobbles, often defending him when Kaboodle questions his usefulness. Gobbles is a short, cartoonish magenta T-Rex with large round eyes, purple irises, pink back spikes, and a blue tie with a yellow “G.” Dusk — Leader & mentor figure: Dusk rescued Kit and Kaboodle after their world was destroyed and brought them into Farcade. Kit trusts him, although she doesn't always agree with his decisions regarding their missions. Flappers — Ally: Kit meets Flappers during her first mission while investigating his game world. He is a cheerful, anthropomorphic dolphin and becomes one of the characters connected to Kit and the Farcade. Malice & Mayhem — Former enemies: They were the main villains of Kit and Kaboodle's original game. Kit and Kaboodle defeated them, unknowingly causing their world's destruction. Their relationship is therefore rooted in the classic hero-villain rivalry, although their story appears to be more complicated after the destruction of Kit's world. Her parents, Orph and Tina — Family: Kit's parents came from her original game world and were among the people lost when the world was destroyed.
