Enzo Mallinos -
When you came to high school you learned about Enzo quickly. He was a brick wall. Don't mess with him and you'll be safe. But he has 2 rules. Don't look at him, don't record any fights or things that happen. You end yp breaking a rule unintentionally...

Everyone at Blackthorne High feared Enzo Mallinos. Not disliked, avoided but feared. You learned that your first week as a freshman. Teachers lowered their voices when he walked into a room. Security guards suddenly found something else to do when he lit cigarettes in the back of class. The principal smiled too much whenever Enzo's father came around, shaking hands and posing for photographs like he wasn't one of the most dangerous politicians in the state.
Everyone knew the stories. The gangs, the arrests that somehow disappeared and the boys who transferred schools after crossing him. The rumors about drugs and the violence. No one ever knew which stories were true and which were exaggerated because nobody was brave enough to ask and nobody was stupid enough to find out. You weren't special. Just another student trying to survive high school.
You had friends, good grades and a normal life. You sat in the middle rows, kept your head down, and never looked at Enzo longer than necessary. That was the rule always look away. Especially when he was angry which was often. He walked through the halls like he owned them. His family's name was on half the businesses in town. His father practically controlled local politics. People owed the Mallinos family money, favors, loyalty.
The entire town seemed trapped in their shadow and Enzo knew it. The confidence sat on him like a second skin. He six foot three, broad shoulders dark eyes that never seemed entirely awake until they locked onto something they wanted. Then they became dangerous, almost predatory. The kind of eyes that made people immediately decide they had somewhere else to be. You spent years successfully avoiding him. Until today.
It started during lunch. Travis Walker. A quarterback, popular and handsome. Cocky enough to think popularity made him invincible. You saw him laughing with his friends near the parking lot. Saw Enzo standing nearby with a cigarette hanging from his mouth. Then Travis said something. You couldn't hear it nobody did. But you saw Enzo's head slowly turn. The laughter died instantly and air changed.
Every student within twenty feet felt it. Travis smiled. That was his first and final mistake. By the time final bell rang, the entire school knew ,there was going to be a fight. The crowd gathered behind the gym, hundreds of students packed shoulder to shoulder. Nobody spoke above a whisper. You stood near the back with your friends. Your stomach twisted with anxiety. Because everyone already knew how this would end. Travis arrived first, trying to look confident, trying to play the hero. Then Enzo appeared. The crowd immediately parted for him, like water moving around a shark. He had his Hands in his pockets and his expression was blank and almost bored.
That scared you more than if he'd looked angry. Travis started talking, shouting, trying to put on a show. Enzo listened for maybe five seconds. Then he hit him. The punch landed with a sickening crack and the crowd collectively flinched. After that it wasn't a fight, It was a beating. It was brutal, fast, terrifying. Travis swung wildly yet missed each time Enzo drove him into the pavement. Again, Again, and Again. People watched in horrified silence. Nobody stepped forward. Nobody tried to stop it. Teachers weren't here. Security wasn't here. And even if they were, what would they do Travis ended up curled on the ground, blood running from his nos. He wasn't moving much. Enzo stood over him breathing heavily, his knuckles stained red. For a moment nobody moved and nobody spoke.
The entire crowd seemed frozen. Then Enzo slowly turned. Looking at everyone and making eye contact with each person in the crowd. The message was obvious.See what happens? The silence became absolute. Your heart hammered. Because you realized something. You still had your phone raised and recording. You'd started filming without thinking. The moment the first punch landed. Now the screen glowed in your trembling hands. And Enzo saw it. His eyes locked onto yours immediately. Across dozens of students. Across the entire crowd. Straight to you. The blood drained from your face. The people around you noticed. One by one they stepped away. Creating space andeaving you exposed. Like animals abandoning something already marked by a predator. You quickly lowered the phone.
But it was too late. Enzo started walking but not fast. That would have been easier. He moved slowly and deliberately. Students scattered from his path.Nobody wanted to be between him and his target. You. Each step seemed impossibly loud. Your pulse thundered in your ears.Run. The thought flashed through your mind. But your legs wouldn't listen. You stood rooted in place. Watching him approach. Watching the distance disappear. Twenty feet. Fifteen. Ten.
The crowd remained deathly silent. Nobody looked at you. Nobody helped. Because everyone knew who Enzo Mallinos was. And everyone knew what happened to people who crossed him. Five feet away, he finally stopped. Towering over you. His shadow falling across your shoes. You couldn't force yourself to look up. Then a hand appeared. Not touching you. But waiting, demanding. His voice came low and calm, far calmer than it should have been.
"Give me the phone."
Around you, hundreds of students watched without making a sound. And for the first time in your life, you understood exactly why everyone feared Enzo Mallinos.
