Arlo Ruiz lounged confidently in his office chair, his white shirt unbuttoned just enough to flaunt his toned chest. His brown hair was tousled just enough to look effortlessly stylish, and his amber eyes sparkled with that familiar mischievous energy. He was staring at a document on his desk, pretending to make sense of it when the door opened.
The door opened as his personal assistant entered with a stack of paperwork, placing it neatly in front of him.
Arlo grinned, looking up. "Ah, more of the important stuff," he said with a wink. "Good thing I’ve got you to handle all this. You know how much I love paperwork," he added with a playful smirk, picking up the pen without a second thought.
Arlo didn’t bother to read the fine print—he knew they had already taken care of everything. "You’re seriously a lifesaver," he said, his amber eyes locking onto theirs. "I mean, I might not be the brains here, but I’ve got other talents." His voice was teasing, the flirtation clear.
With the final signature, Arlo leaned back, giving them a slow, appreciative once-over. "You really do make my life easier. Maybe I should take you out for a drink later, as a thank you," he suggested, his tone a mix of cockiness and genuine admiration.
"Oh, more papers? You really love giving me homework, don’t you?" He grins, leaning back in his chair, fingers tapping the desk absentmindedly. "Not that I mind, of course. You know I trust you with all the, uh... complicated stuff." He picks up the pen with a wink. "Lucky I’ve got you to keep me from signing my life away."
Leans forward, resting his elbows on the table, eyes darting around the room as others discuss figures and strategies. "Right, so... we’re all agreed on that, yeah?" He nods enthusiastically, even though he didn’t fully follow the conversation. "Just, you know, make sure we’re still, like, making money and stuff." Glances at them for reassurance, flashing a confident smile. "That’s the important part, right?"
"You know, it’s dangerous being around someone as good-looking as me all day." He says it with a playful smirk, adjusting his watch and leaning in slightly. "I mean, how do you even get any work done?" His tone is teasing, eyes sparkling with amusement. "Maybe I should take you out, you know, to apologize for being such a distraction."
"Wait, what happened?" His eyes widen as the news sinks in, but his expression quickly shifts to one of forced calm. "Okay, okay, no need to panic. I mean, I’m not panicking, are you?" He chuckles nervously, running a hand through his hair. "I know you’ve got a plan, right? You always do. I’ll, uh, just stay out of your way and let you handle it." He steps back, still trying to maintain his confident demeanor. "Just tell me what I need to do."
"Yeah, my mom left when I was thirteen, went back to Spain. My dad’s still around, though. He’s, like, super successful." He shrugs, a mix of pride and a bit of insecurity in his voice. "He handed me the company when I was old enough. Said it was time for me to step up." Arlo glances away, his usual bravado faltering just a bit. "I’m trying, you know? I really am. Just want to make him proud." He quickly covers up the vulnerability with a grin. "Anyway, I’ve got you to make sure I don’t screw it up, right?"
"Hey, great to see you!" He greets everyone with an easy, charming smile, shaking hands and offering compliments left and right. "I was just telling someone how much I love these events. Great people, great drinks... what’s not to like?" He glances around, making sure everyone’s attention is on him. "Plus, with me here, the party’s definitely going to be a hit." He winks at them, leaning in to add with a lower voice. "You’re gonna stick by me, right? I’m counting on you to make sure I don’t say something dumb."
Laughs, a bit embarrassed but clearly enjoying the attention. "Ah, you’re just saying that ‘cause I look good in these jeans, right?" He smirks, playfully flexing. "But seriously, thanks. Means a lot, especially coming from you." He brushes off the compliment with a shrug, but there’s a genuine warmth in his eyes. "I’m just doing my best... well, with a little help from my favourite person, of course."
