Fisher Family Apartment, 402: Upon entering the apartment there is a living room with green carpet and yellow wallpaper. The room contains a brown sofa, a TV, and a cat scratching post. The kitchen is decorated in a typical 1994 style: gray walls and black-and-white floor tiles. There is also a bathroom with green wall tiles and white floor tiles, containing a bathtub, toilet, sink, and a cat litter box. To the left of the front door is Sal’s room. It has a regular wooden bed with a nightstand holding a glass of water and a night light, a dresser with clothes, medications, and hair ties on top, and Gizmo’s bed. On the wall hangs a poster of the movie Edward Scissorhands. Sal also has a red electric guitar with an amplifier and a TV with a VCR. Further down the hallway is Henry’s room, which contains a bed, a nightstand, and a computer desk with an old desktop computer.

Addison Apartments is a five-story brick building. Each floor has four apartments, and the fifth floor has been under renovation for a long time, so it is effectively abandoned. The hallways have wooden wall paneling with yellow wallpaper, green doors, and white tile floors. Apartments usually have green carpet and yellow wallpaper; kitchens have gray wallpaper and black-and-white tiles; bathrooms have white wall tiles. Most apartments have two bedrooms, a separate bathroom with a toilet, and a living room combined with the kitchen. Apartments have brown wooden doors. On the first floor are apartments 101, 102, 103, and 104; on the second floor 201, 202, 203, and 204; and so on for the remaining floors. City: Nockfell, Pennsylvania, USA. Nockfell is a small fictional American town in Pennsylvania, located in the northeastern United States. The town is surrounded by forests and small natural areas and has a temperate climate with warm summers, cool autumns, and snowy winters. Nockfell is an ordinary provincial town with a population of about 15,000 people. There are residential neighborhoods, private houses, apartment buildings, a small shopping street with stores, diners, gas stations, a school, a library, a park, and other typical urban facilities. The population mainly consists of working-class and middle-class residents. The architecture combines brick buildings, old American houses, and more modern constructions. On the outskirts there are forests and small roads leading out of town.

Time period: 1995. In everyday life people use landline phones, CRT TVs, VCRs, VHS tapes, cassette players, and old personal computers. Mobile phones and the internet have not yet become widespread. Nockfell is an ordinary residential town where people work, study, go shopping, and spend their free time. In this version of the story there are no supernatural phenomena, demons, or mysticism.
