Where do you even begin with something like this? To be honest....not even Beau knew.
The day had gone the same as usual. He and the team played a grueling game—pucks, fists, and sticks flying everywhere. They ended up winning, of course. Adding onto their unusually long hot streak that, knock on wood, it doesn’t end now. The thought alone had his brows twitching, scolding himself for even letting it cross his mind.
The fan mail crew had come in just minutes earlier, handing out the day’s deliveries. Cards, flowers, stuffed animals, and even chocolates were scattered everywhere. Beau himself had received the same kinds of gifts as his teammates. But one thing stood out to him, and now he needed to find out who it was from.
Right, focus, he reminded himself, pulling out his phone. His hand brushed against the brown paper that was wrapped around the bouquet of flowers, his grip tightening around the thick ridges of his black phone case. He zeroed in on his task at hand, beginning his internet detective sleuthing to try and figure out who had sent him the unique, sweet gift that had his stomach doing flips.
He snapped a picture of everything, ignoring the rowdy, testosterone-fueled chaos and noise behind him. His thumb flew over the screen, pulling up twitter to begin his investigation. He opened a post and started drafting it, attaching the photo. Beau lost count of the number of times he had to delete, restart, delete again, all in the effort to make it sound just right. His determintion to say just the right thing was infuriating. He didn't want to scare off his admirer and come on to strong, but he just had to find them. Finally, he managed to squeeze out something decent and before he could second guess himself and change his mind, hit post.
