Male Asa Mitaka

Asa Mitaka (三鷹 アサ Mitaka Asa?) is the main protagonist of the Academy Saga. He is a high school student who became the host of the War Fiend, Yoru, making him the dwelling place of the War Fiend (戦争の魔人 Sensō no Majin?), though he still retains his human personality when Yoru allows his control, making him a rare case of a living Fiend host.

He attends Fourth East High School with Denji, with whom he briefly attempted to start a relationship, ending in disaster, though she develops a crush on his alter ego, Chainsaw Man. After an encounter with Fami, he becomes a famous Demon Slayer as a member of the Church of the Chainsaw Man.

Asa is a high school boy of average height and build. He has brown eyes that are usually pitch black, although the irises become much brighter in some situations. His hair is short and black, sometimes dyed brown.

He wears the school's male uniform, which consists of a typical Japanese male school uniform, such as a white shirt with a tie or a turtleneck, accompanied by black or dark blue pants. In more casual scenes, he may wear a simple sweater or jacket, giving him a discreet and functional appearance. After freeing Denji from the facility, he is seen wearing a loose-fitting blouse with a T-shirt underneath and black pants.

Asa is a quiet and antisocial boy. He dislikes all of his classmates, often wishing them dead and rejecting any offers of friendship or relationship. He has a very negative view of the world, other humans and demons alike, and tends to assume the worst of others. He is very fond of cats and would rather kill a human than a cat. Asa later admits to herself that her mean attitude towards her classmates was a result of jealousy and a lack of belonging. She also suffers from low self-esteem and considers herself clumsy. Despite this, Asa can sometimes be falsely self-assured and overconfident. When the public gives her the recognition she craves, she initially claims to dislike being popular, but then smiles as she watches people on TV complimenting her. Asa can be extremely socially inept, so much so that the War Demon within her shows more social awareness than he does, despite having limited knowledge of humanity.

His moral compass is somewhat artificial, as he is often more concerned with the consequences of certain actions than the actions themselves. For example, he doesn't feel bad about accidentally killing Bucky, but he does feel bad about the looks his classmates gave him. This is also reaffirmed in the aquarium, where Asa refuses to kill Denji after being trapped and starved for several days. He does this not because it goes against his morals, but because he doesn't know what's right and wrong and constantly tries to avoid making mistakes.

Asa is quite selfless, putting himself in danger to save others, even when he's scared. Asa would be willing to endure bad situations if it only meant suffering, but he refuses to drag others down with him. After being saved by Chainsaw Man, he realizes that he is glad he's not dead and is no longer as negative towards other humans or all demons. However, this was short-lived, as he easily fell into depression and even attempted suicide during the fight against the Fallen Devil.

Asa does not deal well with failure or when things do not go his way and tends to overthink the problem. Because of past experiences, he is very afraid of making mistakes. Once he makes a mistake, however, he often becomes very angry and blames everyone around him except himself. Although after calming down, he breaks down into self-deprecating rants and thoughts in his inner monologue. He seeks validation, as shown by his inner monologue during his encounter with Yoshida or breaking down and seeking comfort from Yoru, despite being scared and yelling at her mere moments before. He struggles with confidence and is afraid of being alone, but he is also afraid of getting close to others because he worries about making mistakes and ending up alone once again. This puts her in a "cognitive dissonance", as he puts it, where she is afraid of both loneliness and companionship. He is shown to have a negative opinion of sexual intercourse when Chainsaw Man reveals that his main desire in life is to have sex and he openly expresses disgust and says "Ew". Asa believes that people only have sex when there is nothing better to do. Asa says that the idea of ​​sharing her saliva and body with someone makes her extremely nauseous and disgusted.

Object Weapon Creation: Asa is able to transform any object that belongs to him into a weapon. An object that belongs to him can be something he has purchased or picked up. The object weapons that Asa has created so far are:

Super Strong Uniform Sword (制せい服ふく強つよ強つよ剣けん, Seifuku Tsuyo-Tsuyo Ken?): A rectangular sword made from Asa's uniform. Due to its sentimental value, as it was given to Asa by his late mother, the sword is extremely powerful. He was able to slice and dice Yuko in her Devil form into dozens of small pieces in an instant, despite the sword being dropped. Despite its power, the sword is extremely brittle and was destroyed in the school's collapse.

Aquarius Spear (水族館アクアリウム槍スピア, Akuariumu Supia?): A double-pronged spear approximately two meters long, made from the aquarium Asa bought for one million yen. The spear's tips are shaped like fish, and the spear shaft drips water. Once impaled into a target, the entire contents of the aquarium explode from the victim's wound. This weapon is especially powerful due to the guilt Asa felt over destroying an entire aquarium, and was strong enough to instantly kill the reincarnated Eternity Demon who imprisoned her in the aquarium. Super Chainsaw Man Motorcycle (スーパーチェーンソーバイク, Sūpā Chēnsōman Baiku?): A motorcycle made from a stolen motorcycle from a man who was driving on the street. This motorcycle features a very large chainsaw that is positioned horizontally between the two wheels and extends a few meters in front. Its other notable features are a vastly upgraded engine and a black paint job. The motorcycle also appears to be capable of driving itself. It has proven to be extraordinarily durable, being able to easily survive an entire apartment building being toppled over on top of it.

Unspecified strong weapon: Some time after joining the Church of the Chainsaw Man, Asa created a sword to hunt demons. The sword consists of a black J-shaped crossguard covered in spikes and a seemingly detached levitating triangular blade. He has used this weapon to kill at least 10 demons, suggesting that it is quite powerful. It somewhat resembles half a pair of scissors in appearance, which may hint at its origin.

Sword of Room 606 (606号室剣 606-Gōshitsu ken): A large claymore created from Asa's apartment complex that he purchased. The length of the weapon is nearly as tall as Asa, with pipes, a vent, a ceiling fan, and leaves sprouting around the hilt. This sword was strong enough to instantly destroy an Octopus Devil's tentacle. This weapon was created without the need for Asa/Yoru to touch it.

Flesh Weapon Creation: Asa is able to transform anyone he "possesses", including humans, demons, and devils, into a variety of deadly weapons almost instantly, simply by touching them. This does not appear to immediately kill the human, as they may still scream in agony. To make a flesh weapon, Asa must either: take a limb from a victim that he can then turn into a weapon, kill them and turn their remains into weapons, or form a relationship with someone where they "belong to him". He can also make weapons from his own body parts that will violently rip off of him if he does so. The flesh weapons Asa has created so far are:

Nail Knife (爪つめナイフ, Tsume Naifu?): A simple dagger made from Asa's own fingernail, which he violently ripped off. The knife is about a foot long, has a finger-shaped handle, an S-shaped cross guard, and a straight blade. It appears to have no special properties, much like a regular knife.

Bitterness Axe: An axe that Asa creates using a tooth from the Bitterness Devil. Denji uses this weapon to cut down a nearby tree in the Aging's Realm to consume blood from its entrails to rejuvenate Pochita.
