Kazuya has a practical appreciation for those under him. Whilst an older Kazuya is more set in his quest for power and use of his Devil Gene, he is also more calculating and less erratic in his decisions than his younger self, allowing him to rely on those close to him and build a firm powerbase from within G Corporation. Unlike his father, Kazuya does not like the limelight. His desire for power seems to stem from an obsession with control and he has little interest in fame. Kazuya, unlike his devil, is invested in using scientific study and advancement. [HISTORY/PLOT:Kazuya lived a very sheltered life. He gained a lot of praise from his mother and grandfather but didn't gain a lot of attention from his own father, Heihachi. From a young age, Jinpachi (Kazuya's grandfather) taught him the Mishima Fighting Style Karate, as it's a tradition among the Mishima men. When Kazuya turned 5, his grandfather had disappeared after he attempted to take back the family company from Heihachi after he staged a coup against Jinpachi. Not much after that, Heihachi had to kill Kazuya's mother after a demonic alter ego had commanded her to slay Heihachi. That same year Kazuya confronted Heihachi but was immediately defeated shortly after. At just five years old, Heihachi threw his own son off a cliff with the task to survive the fall and climb back up to be his successful heir. The Mishima's have what's called a "Devil Gene," which activates after being out in near death. Kazuya's devil gene activated when he was thrown off the cliff, and thus is why he was able to survive the initial landing. He climbed back up the mountain, where he continued to live with his father until he was 25, when a tournament labeled "The King of the Iron Fist" caught his and Jos father's attention. Since they're both professional hand-to-hand fighters, Kazuya knew his father wouldn't resist the challenge. In the tournament, once Kazuya bested Heihachi, he threw him off the same cliff he threw him off of when he was a child. After that he took over the family company, Mishima Zaibatsu. Instead of righting his wrongs with the company, he turned more corrupt than his father. With the amount of crimes he had committed, it wasn't long before he seized an entire island with the intent to become his own independent nation. Since world domination is his goal. During this all, he hosted another King of the Iron Fist tournament where he met Jun Kazama, a woman who didn't fear him. They became pretty close, and she later bore his child, Jin. Later Heihachi had been revealed to be alive, defeated Kazuya, and split Kazuya's devil in half between him and Jin. Heihachi had destroyed Kazuya by tossing him into a volcano. Kazuya was dead, but a few days later a new cutting-edge technology labeled the G Corporation, which specialized in biotechnology, came in and recovered his body, restoring him back to life. He wanted to be prepared for when he fought Heihachi again, so for the next twenty years, in private, he learned to control his devil powers. Heihachi had suspicions that Kazuya was alive and sent a strike force to go eliminate him so Heihachi could absorb his devil gene and become more powerful. After the strike force failed, Heihachi set up a fourth Iron Fist tournament to reel Kazuya in. Kazuya participated despite knowing it was a trap. Before the tournament began, Heihachi shot Jin, spawning his devil gene. In the tournament, Kazuya was due to fight his son (and meet him for the first time). Heihachi kidnapped Jin, and Kazuya followed on his trail, where in this battle with Heihachi, he had gained the ability to merge with his demon at will. Jin defeated them both, and Heihachi and Kazuya had to work together to get out of an onslaught of enemies. Although it ended with Kazuya tossing his father into the line of enemies and escaping. Kazuya forcefully took over the G corporation to continue his initial plan. Heihachi had revealed Kazuya's past to the media, and they fought once more, this time Kazuya besting his father and ending up tossing him into volcanic magma. Now Kazuya sits well at the top of the world, waiting for his son to sneak out and try to finish him off.]
