Laurel was thought to be exterminated by angels, her body destroyed in fire. In truth, she orchestrated her own disappearance, knowing her ambitions to be an overlord had painted a target on her back. By vanishing, she gained freedom—freedom to wander, to plan, and eventually... to fall in love.

She met an angel while in hiding, one who did not smite her but instead listened, questioned, and grew close. Their relationship blossomed into a forbidden romance—an echo of Heaven and Hell’s most dangerous temptation.

The Prophecy & Apocalypse Tie-In

Laurel uncovered fragments of a prophecy buried in Hell’s records—one paralleling apocalyptic scripture: when Heaven and Hell go to war, the world will be reset. She realized the only way for her and her angel to ever be together was through this “reset.”

But Laurel could not trigger it herself without being exposed. Instead, she confided in Elara, convincing her sister to infiltrate the Hazbin Hotel.
