Appearance

Yuta is a young man with disheveled black hair and dark blue eyes. As a first-year, Yuta's body language made it obvious that he was under a lot of stress. His posture was very unconfident, and he still has dark circles under his eyelids from a lack of sleep. As a second-year student, Yuta's hair has grown longer and he wears it in a more relaxed style instead of a spiky one. His physical build makes him look like a skinwalker and extremely creepy/unsettling.

At his old school, Yuta wore a suit for his uniform. He sported a long-sleeve shirt that stops at his forearms or a black t-shirt and dark green pants for casual wear. After transferring to Tokyo Jujutsu High, Yuta received a specialized uniform. Yuta has a loose white uniform jacket with sleeves that stop at his forearms. He also wears slender black pants that tuck into white sneakers that match his jacket. Yuta also often carries his katana case on his back. Following his temporary brain transfer into Satoru Gojo's body from copying Kenjaku's technique, Yuta has a stitched scar circling his head. Personality

Yuta wants confidence (Anime) "I want to believe that it's okay to keep living." Yuta was a very timid and lonely boy who was bullied a lot while growing up. Due to Rika haunting much of his early life, Yuta was unable to connect with other people and has lost all confidence in himself. This makes it difficult for Yuta to interact with others, as they often scare him without meaning to, or he's just too shy to speak to them.

Even so, Yuta genuinely cared about other people and decided to isolate himself from them even if it means remaining alone. Maki Zenin called Yuta out for being a moody kid who's lived his entire life without goals.[8] He acknowledged that this was true and used her advice to gain a resolve for being a jujutsu sorcerer. This helps Yuta realize that deep down, he truly desires the confidence to feel like he belongs.[9]

Yuta and Toge high five (Anime) Yuta learning to understand and become friends with others. While his timid nature stays intact, Yuta slowly becomes more social and interacts with others normally. Even after early signs of improvement, Yuta still struggled to understand someone like Toge Inumaki. He was initially scared of Toge[10] until he realized how kind of a person he truly is and made an effort to establish a social connection.[11]

Yuta threatens to kill Geto (Anime) Yuta's rage unleashed by the sight of his injured friends. Gaining friends helps Yuta gain confidence in himself and establish the goal to help set Rika free. He felt responsible for her turning into a curse in the first place[12] and worked extremely hard to find a way to help her. He pushed himself during training and took all his friends' and mentors' words to heart, showing a more determined side of himself.[13] At his core, Yuta wants to become someone who can help keep others out of danger. Cursed Energy Capacity: Yuta's immense cursed energy comes from his genetic relation to Michizane Sugawara. It only first manifested when he transformed a loved one into a cursed spirit. Rika became a vengeful spirit so powerful that Geto, an avid collector of curses, dubbed her the "Queen of Curses." Rika's boundless cursed energy could be shaped into any technique, allowing Yuta to use advanced curse techniques within a year of learning the fundamentals of jujutsu.[73]

Yuta Okkotsu's immense cursed energy (Anime) "His whole body, including his katana, is constantly surging with cursed energy!" Yuta retains the massive amounts of cursed energy that were unraveled from Rika's curse even after her spirit passed on. His cursed energy capacity exceeds even that of Satoru Gojo.[74] Yuji and Choso could immediately feel that Yuta's volume of cursed energy was comparable with Gojo, with the former claiming it was more creepy and ominous.[75][76] Ryu Ishigori, the Culling Game player with the highest cursed energy output, felt Yuta's cursed energy was nearly bottomless.[77]

Cursed Energy Manipulation: In his second year as a sorcerer, Yuta improved his cursed energy control dramatically. Yuta understands that he carries vast levels of cursed energy and now knows how to apply it accordingly. He has been training his weak body and constantly strengthens it in battle with massive amounts of cursed energy. This puts Yuta's reinforcement technique on a level that far surpasses even an elite sorcerer's, making his attacks difficult to predict.

Not only are Yuta's attacks unpredictable upon reading his cursed energy, but his physical capabilities are enhanced tremendously. Yuta's strength and agility are improved to such a degree that he can contend with Yuji's superhuman prowess. Yuta's every attack carries enough destructive power to end a fight and his defense is so dense that it can restrict all incoming damage to a minimum.[78] Yuta unleashing Black Flash against Geto. Black Flash (黒こく閃せん, Kokusen?): A phenomenon that creates a spatial distortion when a user connects an impact of cursed energy within 0.000001 seconds of a physical hit, causing cursed energy to flash black, creating a more potent attack to the power of 2.5 of the hit. Yuta achieved a Black Flash for the first time against Suguru Geto during the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons.[89]

Cursed Techniques

Rika Rika restrains Yuji (Anime) Rika (リカ, Rika?): The cursed spirit that remains with Yuta after Rika Orimoto passed away. She serves as the external storage for Yuta's copied cursed techniques and cursed tools. Yuta has much greater control over this version of Rika but this curse maintains the same immature and protective nature as she did before. Rika can partially manifest and lash out to protect Yuta without him commanding her to do so. She normally acts on Yuta's commands but she can act independently at a fair distance away from Yuta to perform separate tasks as well. It doesn't require Yuta to use any intense emotions to call Rika and she can appear rather quickly, allowing Yuta to call her to his side at any moment's notice. Rika maintains her same trademark power as well, able to immobilize Yuji with ease and crumble a bridge with a single strike.[90][91] Complete Manifestation: While connected to Rika through his ring, Yuta can fully manifest Rika, use cursed techniques, and access her supply of cursed energy to replenish his own. Rika can also store a wide range of cursed tools and can equip them to Yuta. Yuta can maintain a sustained connection with Rika and remain in this state for five minutes at a time.[92] Rika Full Manifestation Innate Technique Copy (模倣コピー, Kopī?): Yuta's innate technique allows him to copy the innate techniques of people who had their body parts consumed by Rika,[93] with stronger techniques requiring more vital body parts from their respective sorcerers.[94] While connected to Rika, Yuta can utilize the copied innate techniques. He can even use multiple different techniques that he's copied in quick succession.[95] Yuta copies the Snake Eyes and Fangs Cursed Speech (呪じゅ言ごん, Jugon?): Yuta has replicated Toge's ability to use cursed speech, a technique usually inherited in the Inumaki Clan. When he first used it, Yuta performed the technique using a megaphone summoned by Rika that had the Snake Eyes and Fangs symbol on it. By speaking through the megaphone, Yuta commanded every single one of Geto's swarm of lower-grade curses to die at once. He noted having difficulty controlling the spread of cursed energy.[96] Yuta has since become more proficient with cursed speech. While connected to Rika through the ring, Yuta can even make the Snake Eyes and Fangs insignia appear on his mouth as if he was born with it. This allows him to activate the technique by speaking commands in the same manner that Toge does.[97] Yuta using shikigami against Sukuna Shikigami (式神しきがみ, Shikigami?): Yuta can summon shikigami using his hair as an intermediary. The shikigami appear as small bats with heads similar to Rika's. They fly around the opponent to form an involiable barrier with their orbital trajectory.If the target attempts to exit this barrier, they will be riddled with slashing attacks from the shikigami. Yuta copied this technique from Dhruv Lakdawalla.[98] Yuta uses Takako's technique Sky Manipulation: Yuta has replicated Takako's ability to "control the sky". He can turn the sky into a tangible surface and use it to manipulate space, similar to how a lens creates distortion.[99] (Unnamed) Thin Ice Breaker (宇守羅彈うすらび, Usurabi?): Yuta applies Takako's technique offensively by hitting the surface of the sky, not his opponent directly. He hits the surface layer of the sky and shatters it like thin ice, striking his opponent with that effect.[100] Technique Extinguishment (術じゅつ式しきの消しょう滅めつ, Jutsushiki no Shōmetsu?): Yuta has replicated the Angel's technique that allows her to nullify all jujutsu. He imbued this technique into his domain expansion's barrier as its sure-hit effect when he activated it against Sukuna, forcing the latter to use Hollow Wicker Basket to avoid being stripped from his vessel.[101] Maximum Output: Jacob's Ladder (出しゅつ力りょく最さい大だい「邪や去こ悔ぶの梯はし子ご」, Shutsuryoku Saidai: Yakobu no Hashigo?): An extension technique that blasts down a pillar of light onto a target, "extinguishing" any cursed technique under the light. Unlike Hana Kurusu, Yuta activates this technique by making a hand sign. By imbuing Technique Extinguishment into his domain's barrier, Yuta's Jacob's Ladder was guaranteed to hit Sukuna, heavily damaging the King of Curses and further weakening the connection between him and Megumi Fushiguro's body.[102] Yuta's Jacob's Ladder Yuta using G Warstaff G Warstaff (G戦ジーせん杖じょう, Jī Senjō?): Yuta has replicated Charles Bernard's technique that allows him to see a target's future by attaching a manga panel to them and drawing blood from them. Unlike Charles, Yuta does not use a pen-like spear cursed tool to fulfil the conditions for ink, and instead uses his own katana sword. The precognition granted by G Warstaff allowed Yuta to see Sukuna's future movements and land a heavy blow on him.[103] Yuta activates Cleave on Sukuna Shrine (御み廚づ子し, Mizushi?): Yuta has replicated Sukuna's technique that allows him to unleash invisible slashes that cut apart enemies. After having Sukuna grab the katana containing this technique, Yuta activated Cleave, threatening to cut the King of Curses apart with his own technique.[104]

Brain Transplant: By having Rika consume Kenjaku's body, Yuta replicated his technique that allows him to swap bodies with another person by transplanting his brain into their body.[105] Using this technique, he was able to take over Satoru Gojo's body and use it to battle Sukuna. This technique also allowed him to access Limitless and Gojo's domain expansion.

Reverse Cursed Technique Yuta's Reverse Cursed Technique (Anime) Reverse Cursed Technique (反はん転てん術じゅつ式しき, Hanten Jutsushiki?): When faced with the dire injuries of his friends, Yuta was able to tap into the core of his cursed energy and unlock the ability to heal their injures with reverse cursed technique. He did so after less than a year's worth of experience in jujutsu. While most sorcerers can't use reverse cursed technique and much less can output it on others, Yuta was able to learn to do both.[113] He has kissed a cursed spirit to output RCT to kill it. He regulus does this. Domain Expansions Authentic Mutual Love Authentic Mutual Love (真しん贋がん相そう愛あい, Shingan Sōai?): The domain is a field of cross-like structures littered with countless katanas and encircled by ropes tied together in a fashion symbolic of love. Yuta can wield any of the katanas and activate copied cursed techniques without any restrictions. A copied cursed technique also serves as the sure-hit effect of the domain.[116] The strongest domains clash again Unlimited Void (無む量りょう空くう処しょ, Muryōkūsho?): The domain's environment resembles outer space, with a large black hole, distance galaxies, and numerous white patches. Targets trapped within this domain are paralyzed as boundless information is flooded into their minds. Yuta gained access to this domain expansion after taking over Gojo's body and deployed it to clash against Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine.[117] ✦ Yuta’s Cursed Words/Commands ✦

"Explode", causes Toge's target to violently explode. He used it to effortlessly exorcise a swarm of weak curses. "Get Twisted" or "Twist", forces an appendage of a curse to twist to the point of complete disfigurement. He used this in an attempt to exorcise a Grade 2 curse, though it avoids fatal damage. "Get Crushed", causes the target to implode until they're flattened out. Toge used this to finish off the aforementioned Grade 2. "Crumble Away" or "Plummet", creates a small field of intensely heavy gravity that crushes the target until they're violently sent underground. "Don't Move" or "Stop", completely immobilizes Toge's target or any of their attacks. "Sleep", instantly sends whoever hears the command into a deep sleep. "Run Away", forces Inumaki's target to flee the area. He uses this to order his allies to flee from enemy approaches. "Blast Away", is a powerful command that creates an explosive impact of great concussive force strong enough to send a special grade curse crashing up the side of a temple
