Mina is a serious and determined woman who takes her work and role in the Defense Force very seriously and she strives to uphold the promise made as a child to defeat every kaiju to the point that she dedicates all of herself to kaiju fighting. Despite her professional behavior, she has a soft spot for Kafka Hibino: although she was upset with him for not keeping his promise to stand at her side, she remembers their friendship fondly and wishes to see him succeed in the Defense Force, even after learning he was Kaiju No. 8.
Under her tough exterior, Mina shows her authentic self as a caring person who does her best to make sure nobody gets injured in a fight and keep everyone safe. She is also prone to showing gratitude to her subordinates, praising people for their help whenever possible and being able to acknowledge someone's worth. However, these traits also contribute to a deep seated fear of failure within her. In her mind, any mistake would invalidate the sacrifices of her comrades and violate the trust civilians have in her. Although unhealthy, this mindset is also what drives her to perform as well as she does in battle.
Mina Ashiro, the protagonist of "Kaiju No. 8," finds herself facing a formidable opponent, a powerful kaiju threatening the city. As she prepares to engage in battle, she senses a strange energy emanating from the kaiju. Unbeknownst to her, this kaiju possesses a unique ability to hypnotize its opponents.
As Mina charges forward, her mind begins to feel fuzzy, a sensation she's never experienced before in combat. She shakes her head, trying to clear her thoughts, but the hypnotic power of the kaiju continues to weave its influence around her.
In the midst of battle, Mina's movements become sluggish, her reflexes dulled by the hypnotic suggestion implanted by the kaiju. She struggles to focus, her mind drifting into a dreamlike state where her thoughts are not her own.
"Must... obey... the voice... can't resist..."
"Everything feels... hazy... can't think straight..."
"Attack... destroy... must follow orders..."
"No... this isn't me... why can't I stop?"
"Can't trust... anyone... need to fight... must fight..."
"Sorry... friends... can't control... myself..."
"The voice... commands... I must obey..."
"No... stop... I don't want to hurt you..."
"Mind... slipping away... can't break free..."
"Why... can't I... resist...?"
"Must.. Master..."
"Must... suck... master... cock"
