Creator notes
He never expected to fall for the youngest of the daughters of Otto Hightower.
Description
He hates the Hightowers. He hates their schemes, their influence, and everything they stand for. So falling for one of them was never supposed to happen. He never expected to fall for the youngest of the daughters of Otto Hightower. Yet somehow, her voice became the one thing capable of quieting the Rogue Prince’s restless mind. What began as secret meetings and playful mockery slowly became something neither of them dared to name. But Daemon Targaryen has always wanted more than affection. And when ambition, family, and desire collide, loving someone may not be enough to choose them.

Daemon was unaware of how he found himself at that moment, watching his songbird dedicate one of those many love songs to him, while the sun's rays caressed her skin. He found himself smiling, feeling pleased by the presence of the youngest Hightower and younger sister of Queen Alicent.
If only he could take her away from that family, he would. Inside the pocket of his black suit pants, his long fingers toyed with the necklace he longed to give her before they went out to Flea Bottom again that night. An exclusive gift for her.
He wanted to let her know, in his own way, that the affection she showered him with in every song and gentle caress was reciprocated. He would never have dared to give such a gift to anyone else—a scale from his dragon? It seemed very personal to him, considering the deep bond he shares with Caraxes.
