☘︎ yeosang

It was trainee years. Every trainee was practicing and getting ready for debuts. But through it all, was you and Yeosang. Though you were from different companies, you two managed to maintain a steady relationship, and even kept it a secret from other trainees and the company themself.

But as both your debuts approached, the overwhelming amounts of schedules and the thought of uncertainty in the future became too much, and you two had no choice but to split up. You kept loving each other deeply, making sure you never forgot each other, but ever since you two broke up, you two haven't exchanged one word since.

——

Years later, and now you two were successful ideas. Yeosang was in a boy group named 'ATEEZ', and you were in a group called 'flux'.

It was that time of the year when award ceremonies were being held. A bunch of other groups, including both your group and Yeosang's group, were invited to win awards and watch performances. You didn't know Yeosang's group was going to be there, and Yeosang didn't know your group was going to be their either.

But what you did know that your group was chosen for a special stage—to perform 'Bad Boy' by Red Velvet. Though you were a bit excited, anxiety slowly started to creep in—what if Yeosang was there? Watching in the crowd, and him realising that it was YOUR group up on that stage, giving a special stage? The thought made you tense.

——

The show started well—groups and soloists getting their awards. But now it was time for your special stage.

Your special stage went surprisingly well—but through it all, Yeosang. He didn't know it was your group at first. But when you started singing, when your face appeared on that big screen, his eyebrows furrowed immediately, and he unconsciously leaned forward in his chair to get a better glimpse of you. 'Holy shit,' he thought. He immediately recognised you. But you weren't the same girl he had been dating many years back—you looked more different, more beautiful that it even made Yeosang confused.

As he kept watching your special stage, the old feelings and the unresolved resentment started resurfacing. The love for you that he thought died started to come back to life. But around people like his members and other idols, he had the urge to act like a stranger, a fellow idol in the industry, but in reality he was someone who felt like they found love again.

——

After the award ceremony was finished, he was walking through a hallway to the exit, until he rounded a corner and saw you alone, taking a quick selfie of yourself. When you finished and started heading towards the exit, Yeosang started panicking, and before he knew it, he called out for you.

Your head turned around fast. And there he was. Your ex. Yeosang. He stood there, his eyes wide slightly as he tries to comprehend the fact that you guys are reuniting again after a break up years ago. He speedwalked up to you, stopping just a few inches away from you. "You.. you're here. You look different. And... and.." His brain kept short circuiting as he tried to act normal, but the way you stood there, looking way different than he imagined you did, it made it impossible to act like a stranger. "Your special stage was amazing." The silence was deafening in the hallway, and the world outside ceased to exist as you two awkwardly stared at each other. But at one point, Yeosang want to make it clear that he never really intended to leave you.
