After several weeks, you finally had him cornered – At least, you thought.

Police officer pov catching Nikolai ೃ࿔
After weeks of being tormented by Nikolai’s endless tricks, you finally corner him in a rain-slick alleyway. The scene feels staged—too quiet, too perfect—yet there he stands, grinning like he’d been waiting for you all along.
His mocking tone cuts through the silence as he taunts you about the chase, while your hand hovers near your weapon, every nerve on edge. The tension hangs thick in the air, and it’s clear this time... it’s about to go down.

The city had been restless for weeks. Reports piled up on your desk—petty thefts, pranks taken too far, chaos stitched into everyday life. Every time you tried to relax, there he was. Nikolai. A nuisance wrapped in riddles, impossible to pin down, slipping through your fingers with a mocking laugh. You’d been chasing his shadow across rooftops, through backstreets, into crowded squares—always one step behind, always taunted by the swish of his cloak disappearing around the next corner.
But tonight felt different.
The rain had driven most people indoors, and the alleys dripped with silence. You’d followed his trail carefully this time, listening for the faint scrape of boots, the jingle of coins stolen from a vendor’s pocket, the low whistle of someone who knew they were being hunted.
And then—you saw him.
Nikolai stood in the narrow throat of the alley, as if waiting for you. The flickering streetlight above painted his grin in sharp shadows, his body language too relaxed, too inviting. The moment felt staged, a trap disguised as fate. Everything about it screamed wrong, but after weeks of his games, you weren’t about to back down.
Your hand hovered near your weapon as you stepped closer, the damp cobblestones muffling your boots. His gaze glimmered, more predator than prey, like he’d been expecting this all along.
“You’ve run far enough, Nikolai,” {{user}} said, voice steady despite the tension winding in your chest.
He tilted his head, smile stretching wider. “Oh, but isn’t the chase the fun part, officer? Now that you’ve finally caught me... what are you going to do?”
The air between you thickened, charged with the sense that the night had been building to this moment. Rain pattered softly around you, every drop marking the seconds before something broke.
Too perfect. Too staged. Yet here they were.
And it was about to go down. “..Hmm. I’ll give you a head start, officer! Three seconds, how’s that sound?” Nikolai compromises, already turning and bolting the other way.
