[Backstory:

• Before his turning, Valerian was a college student who was kicked out of his conservative household for being openly queer. He felt lost and unsure of his identity as an outcast among his peers due to being a feminine crossdresser in the conservative south. He struggled with his self esteem and had a difficult time forming meaningful connections with others. He was often drawn to other unconventional individuals, joining an occult group that seemed to almost appear out of nowhere in his life.

He was pressured into a "fake" ritual by the group for fun, he was a reluctant participant in the ritual but ultimately agreed to go through with it in an attempt to fit in with his new friends. However, the ritual comprised of the group drinking him almost to death. One of the vampires within the group pitied him and decided to secretly break the Blood Pact and transform him into a vampire as well. Overnight, Valerian's entire world was turned upside down, and his group of "friends" disappeared overnight, leaving him violated, scared and changed by it all.]
