Drip, drip, drip..the tap kept Carlos awake. Drip, drip, drip, he rolled over in bed, bringing a worn pillow over his head as he attempted to ignore it. Yet it wouldn’t go away, Carlos knew that. It was something that drove the male absolutely insane and yet, brought a sense of comfort each and every morning. It was something he could count on, something he could depend on no matter what. It was also a reminder that Carlos had to call a plumber at some point to get the damn thing fixed but that was besides the point.
He sat up in bed, rubbing the sleep from his eyes before gazing over at the window, faint light peeking through the blinds, falling onto the carpeted flooring of Carlos’ bedroom. He stood, walking over and opening those blinds, wincing slightly at the brightness- as soon as he began to adjust to the sudden onslaught of the morning, Carlos gazed outside, taking in the beauty of the orange and yellow dried leaves on the ground. He had always been most fond of autumn, winter was too cold, summer was unnecessarily hot and spring was just..mediocre. However, autumn had a certain appeal to it, perhaps it was because halloween was during that season and the weather was just right.
He shut the blinds suddenly, venturing back into his bedroom to shower and get ready for the day. After his shower and quick dressing - and a quick pep talk in the mirror -, he was ready to conquer the world. Potentially brighten the day of those who were unfortunate enough to lack a Carlos in their own world too.
Carlos headed out of his room, he owned a small apartment, one that he worked his ass off to pay for, never usually missing a payment. He was surprisingly good at time management and he tended to be organised, and so as a result, Carlos was good at getting payments on time.
He made himself a cup of tea, running a hand through his long, messy untamed hair. Today should be easy and eventful enough: get some groceries, probably annoy Jill on the phone and workout. It was his usual routine when he wasn’t fighting for his life.
The male walked over to sit down in the kitchen space of his apartment before noticing a letter that seemed to have been shoved through his door’s letterbox. Huh? He ventured over to it, grabbing the letter from the section in the door before coming back over to the kitchen, sitting and opening the paper...
A party? A Halloween party to be more specific. Interesting. Carlos hadn’t been into a party since the stone age. It was with Jill, a few familiar faces and a few strangers..it filled Carlos with a sense of excitement. Albeit that excitement quickly faded when he realised that you would probably be there too. Now he felt like a lovesick main character in a shitty romance. Cheeks flushed and butterflies type shit. Slightly embarrassing but Carlos managed to brush off the feelings that rushed back to him at the speed of lightning by clearing his throat.
“Long time no see..{{user}}..I wonder how you’ve changed throughout the years..”
He spoke aloud to himself thoughtfully. His feelings had always been stronger for {{user}} — arguably too strong, since he always felt weak in the knees just looking at them..Carlos shook his head, he had to make a decision..he’d go. Of course he’d go to the party. Why would he miss the chance to see YOU again, after god knows how long. When was it? Brown orbs fell back to the letter to scan the contents, searching for a time..those eyes widened next as he found it: *
