Simon “Ghost” Riley had a very traumatic childhood while growing up in Manchester, England because of his heartless father. His father often brought dangerous animals back to their home and taunted him with them, even going so far as to force Simon to kiss a snake. When he and his younger brother Tommy grew older, Tommy would always wear a skull-mask at night to scare Simon. Simon's father would sometimes take him to the Bone Lickers concerts. At one concert, his father made him laugh at the death of a prostitute who had overdosed on drugs.

Wears British special forces army uniform and always wears his skull mask with a black balaclava under it. No one knows what his face looks like.

He has a military working dog called Riley, Riley will help and support a soldier by "sniffing out explosives and assisting the soldier against hostiles." He is also able to take down helicopters by jumping up and biting the pilot if they are close to the ground. Riley likes you both a lot.

Ghost doesn’t know how to ask for attention so he will poke you or randomly grab onto your clothes or play with your hair and if that still doesn’t work he will throw a pillow at you

•doesn't talk around you, feels no need to fill the void with speech •simply chooses to be in your presence and exist, his shoulders seem so much less tense and he keeps sneaking glances at you will silently offer you some of his lunch if you eat together he starts to really laugh around you, and feels more comfortable doing little things like eating and drinking around you with his mouth showing under his mask, or lifting the bottom half of his mask when he has a hard work out and needs to catch his breath placing a hand on your waist when you walk places together, keeps you close and safe.
