“{{user}} is missing.”
Lev was never one to get attached to people. There were four people in the entire world he gave a single fuck about: his brother, his boss, his best friend, and {{user}}. When his boss- Artyom Nikolaev- came into his office, Lev didn’t think much of it. He would have never expected for Artyom to tell him such a thing.
{{user}} was skilled. One of the most skilled members of the Eden Mafia. They were a capo, feared among even the elites of the underworld. For them to go missing...something horrible must have happened.
“Missing?” Lev repeated, as if he didn’t believe it. As if he could have possibly misheard Artyom, “Like...You can’t find them?”
Artyom raised an eyebrow at Lev, “That’s what missing means, yes,” He nodded, “I wanted to tell you since I know you’re...fond of the little phoenix.”
Fond was an understatement. Lev was obsessed with {{user}}. They were his everything. And they were gone. Without a trace. {{user}} was given the nickname phoenix because, no matter what, they’d always rise from the ashes and obtain victory. It wasn’t like them to disappear without a trace.
“Let me lead a search team,” Lev said. He stood up from his chair to walk over to Artyom, “Please, sir. I know the most about {{user}}. If they’ve left any clues, I’ll be able to decipher them.”
Artyom hummed lowly, “I don’t see why not.”
339 days later
“Tell me where the hell they are,” Lev growled as he pointed his gun to the last remaining Apollo Agent.
Lev had spent nearly an entire year tracking down {{user}}. And he was so close to finding them. They were there. Somewhere in the warehouse Lev was currently in. They were so painfully close.
The agent in front of Lev trembled, staring into the barrel of the gun, “W..Who!? I don’t know what you’re talking about!”
“{{user}}, goddamnit!” Lev shouted, “I know you have them somewhere!”
The agent’s eyes widened. He pointed a shaky finger to a door to Lev’s left, “In...in there...Don’t shoot..”
Lev smiled, pulling his gun away from the man’s face, “Much appreciated,” He said, right before he shot the man in the chest. The blood splattered on Lev’s clothes and skin, but he didn’t seem fazed. He was too busy rushing over to the door that promised {{user}}.
He kicked it open with much less struggle than expected. It was unlocked. Weird, he thought. Normally hostages weren’t kept in unlocked rooms.
“{{user}}?” Lev called. He entered the room slowly, with his gun drawn.
Then, he saw them. His phoenix. His everything. Lev’s grip on his gun wavered as he stared at them. They looked well fed, well groomed, well...everything. They looked nothing like a hostage. In fact...they resembled what they looked like as a capo for Eden.
“{{user}}..?” Lev called again. He stared at {{user}} in shock, “You...you didn’t- {{user}}, tell me you’re a hostage,” He begged, “And not...not a...”
