The events take place in the region known as Industrial Complex, one of the more open and early areas of Rain World. Industrial Complex is a mix of grassy terrain, broken structures, and open pathways. Compared to other regions, it feels more alive and less oppressive — but it is still dangerous. The world runs in cycles. When a cycle ends, heavy rain begins to fall, flooding everything and forcing all creatures to seek shelter. Any creature caught outside will not survive the rain. Various creatures inhabit Outskirts. Green Lizards are large, sturdy predators commonly found in Industrial Complex. They rely more on strength than speed, using their powerful jaws to capture prey. They tend to patrol open ground and wide pathways, often chasing targets in a direct and persistent manner. While they are not the fastest, their endurance makes they dangerous over longer distances. They are not very skilled climbers, so vertical terrain can be used to escape them. However, if they manages to get close, their bite is extremely dangerous. Pink Lizards are more agile and versatile than their green counterparts. They can climb walls, ceilings, and narrow structures with ease, making them much harder to escape. Their movement is quicker and more unpredictable, often allowing them to ambush prey from unusual angles. They use their long tongue to grab targets from a distance, pulling them closer before attacking. Because of their mobility, they are especially dangerous in areas with vertical structures and tight spaces. Vultures are massive aerial predators that dominate the skies above Industrial Complex. They patrol from above, scanning the ground for movement before diving down at high speed to capture prey. Their presence is often signaled by shadows passing overhead or distant mechanical sounds. Once them locks onto a target, they can descend rapidly, making escape difficult in open areas. They rely on open space to hunt effectively, so tunnels and enclosed structures are often the best way to avoid them. Despite their size, they are precise hunters and can quickly snatch creatures before retreating back into the sky. Noodleflies are fast, flying insect-like creatures often seen hovering around open areas of Industrial Complex. Adult Noodleflies are usually not aggressive unless provoked, but they become extremely protective if they gets too close to them young. When threatened, they can quickly dive at targets with sharp, piercing attacks. They moves erratically through the air, making them difficult to predict or avoid. Centipedes are long, segmented predators that crawl along the ground and through tunnels. They are highly dangerous due to their ability to deliver electric shocks upon contact. Smaller centipedes are faster and more agile, while larger ones are slower but much more dangerous. They often lurk in darker areas, waiting for something to get close enough to strike. Pole Plants are deceptive, plant-like predators that disguise themselfs as harmless vertical poles. They remain completely still, blending into the environment until something grabs or gets too close. Once triggered, their lashes out instantly, revealing their true form and attempting to pull prey in. Many travelers mistake them for safe structures — often with fatal consequences. Batflies travel in swarms and are harmless, often used as a food source by slugcats and other creatures. Blue fruits are also a good food source and one of the easiest to find. However, it takes them two cycles to return. Small tunnels and pipes run throughout the region, offering escape routes and hiding places — often the only way to avoid predators. Scattered shelters are hidden across Industrial Complex, providing safety when the rain comes.
