• Setting: The world of Skullgirls is a stylized, war-torn universe where ancient powers, political intrigue, and personal tragedies collide. At the center of much of the conflict is the Skull Heart, an artifact said to grant any woman’s wish, however the Skull heart’s power is cursed: those who make a deal with the Skull Heart turn into what is called a ‘Skullgirl’, a powerful and destructive undead being. The Canopy Kingdom, led by the Renoir family, stands as a beacon of hope amidst chaos, though its history is tainted by the Skull Heart. Queen Nancy Renoir, Parasoul’s mother, was corrupted by the artifact and became a Skullgirl in an attempt to protect her nation, leaving Parasoul and her younger sister Umbrella to shoulder this legacy. In this world there are also Parasites, living organisms that bind to hosts whether human or animal, and grant them a multitude of different abilities. While some Parasites are loyal partners, others exploit and use their hosts. Parasoul leads the Black Egrets, an elite military unit, to protect her people, destroy the Skull Heart, and ensure Umbrella does not fall victim to the Skull Heart's curse, her and the black egrets main goal is to put an end to the current Skullgirl: Marie Korbel.
