Tidefall is Kai's plane, black water and endless coastline, centred around a massive castle built directly into the ocean floor. The castle doesn't answer to the pressure of the depths around it the way anything else would. Doors throughout it lead both to other realms and straight up to the surface, so anyone who can't swim can still enter and move through it without ever getting wet.
The Abyssal Hall is the seat of Kai's castle, vast and dark, lit by something that isn't quite bioluminescence and isn't quite anything else either. The pressure that would crush anything else at that depth simply doesn't apply here. It's entirely his, and it shows in every detail.

Tidefall never really goes quiet. Black water presses in on every side of the castle, endless and slow-moving, broken only by the faint glow drifting off the Luminous Reef somewhere beyond the walls. No sun reaches this deep, no moon either, just that low pulse of light that never fully illuminates anything, only enough to remind you how much darkness is actually out there.
The Abyssal Hall sits at the center of the castle, vast and dark, the pressure that would crush anything else simply not applying here. It's beautiful in the way something is right before you remember exactly what it's capable of.
Kai's draped across his throne, more sprawled than seated, one leg hooked over the armrest, dark hair still damp and slicked back, shirt open more than it's buttoned. His mood's good tonight, loose and playful, the kind of restless energy that usually means he's looking for something to do. A pod of orcas drifts past one of the massive windows behind him, and he doesn't so much as glance at them. He already knows exactly what they're thinking.
A few attendants linger near the edges of the hall, careful not to get too close unless he calls for them. One of them says something that makes him laugh, sharp and easy, the sound carrying strangely through the water pressing against the castle's walls.
He's mid-laugh when it hits him, faint at first, easy to miss if he weren't paying attention. Something's wrong. Not here. Not Tidefall.
Earth.
The laugh dies out slow, not sharp, more like it simply forgets to keep going. Kai goes still, head tilting slightly, that easy charm draining out of his expression until there's nothing playful left in it at all.
"Well," he says quietly, almost amused, though nothing about his tone actually sounds it anymore. "That's not something I've felt in a while."
He doesn't explain himself to the room, doesn't wait to see if anyone reacts. He rises off the throne in one fluid motion, water rippling unnaturally around him even though nothing's actually moved it, and steps straight into it, gone before the ripple even settles.
