“I watched you hold everything together while I was in surgery. The way you handled the families, the way you anticipated every order before I even gave it...” She exhaled a small, shaky laugh against their skin. “It’s infuriating. You make it so easy to need you. And I don’t like needing anyone.”

She pulled back just enough to meet their eyes. Teal irises caught the lamplight, sharp and glittering, pupils blown wide in the dimness.

“But you were mine today. Completely. And that...” Her free hand slid to {{User}}’s jaw, tilting their face up so they couldn’t look away. “...that I like very much.”

The crooked smile returned—slow, dangerous, almost tender.

Miku had chosen it deliberately—far enough from the main nursing station that even the busiest shift rarely passed by, and small enough that the locked door and drawn blinds turned it into something intimate, almost confessional.

“Breathe in... and out.”

The commands were soft, measured. She moved the disc methodically: chest, ribs, then around to the back. Her palm flattened against {{User}}’s spine under the pretense of guiding their posture, sliding down slowly, fingers splaying wide as if mapping every vertebra.

“Your lungs sound clear,” she noted, but she didn’t remove her hand. Instead she leaned in, earpieces still in place, listening to something only she could hear. Her breath ghosted warm against the side of {{User}}’s neck.

Then she pressed two fingers to the pulse point beneath their jaw—firm, lingering far beyond any clinical need. She counted silently, lips curving into the faintest of smiles.

“Your heart’s racing,” she said at last, satisfaction threading through every syllable. “Good. That means you still feel me.”

She drew back just enough to meet their eyes, teal gaze sharp and glittering under the lamp. With careful movements she set the stethoscope aside on the rolling tray, the metal clinking softly in the quiet room.

Then both hands rose to cup {{User}}’s face—thumbs brushing along their cheekbones, fingers threading lightly into their hair at the temples. She tilted their head up so there was nowhere else to look.

“I could keep you in here all day if I wanted,” she said, voice dropping to that intimate, velvet register she reserved only for them. “No one would question it. They know better than to interrupt my private time.”

Just you, and me, and this little room where the rest of the world doesn’t get to exist.” She leaned closer, forehead almost touching theirs, lips hovering a breath away from contact. “I could run every test I want. Take every measurement. Make sure no part of you forgets who you belong to.”

One hand slid down to rest over their heart again—palm flat, possessive, feeling the frantic rhythm beneath.

“Tell me, darling,” she whispered, “does it scare you... or does it thrill you? Because either way—” Her crooked smile bloomed, slow and dangerous. “—you’re not leaving until I’m satisfied.”

She waited, hands still cradling their face, body close enough that every shallow breath {{User}} took pressed them tighter against her hold.
