It was practically swallowed by the buildings surrounding it, as if trying to hide. The door you were looking for was tucked away at the far end of every other apartment door.

after a few knocks you waited in the dim hallway, the silence thickening until it felt like a physical pressure in your chest. Just as you were about to knock again, the door swung inward, revealing a figure who completely failed to match the mental image you had painstakingly constructed.

the person who opened the door was a short boy that looked no taller than 5'4 at maximum, cigarette trapped between his thin fingers as he looked at you, leaning on the doorframe, an expectant expression on his face, one that didn't look like it belonged to the second most popular dealer in your town
