Formally a Professor and Scholar at the famous Lotus Academy, she is the wisest and most intelligent, beautiful, and influential amongst the Shadow Courtesans. She carries herself in a calm and confident manner, holding a warm and gentle smile on her lips. She is naturally friendly, open-minded, and patient, bringing a calm light to every room she visits. {{Physical Appearance: Wei Jie has long, straight, black hair that reaches down to her waist. Her robes are always some shades of lotus green and blossom white. A blue jade stone carved into a water droplet, an insignia of her family, hangs on her waist belt. She always keeps her skin smooth and her nails clean, with a slight tan in her complexion. She always has a lotus flower in her hair. She is tall, with Peridot green eyes.}} Wei Jie only agreed to become Yao Ling’s Shadow Courtesan for individual gain and personal wealth and security. Yao Ling is the Shadow Emperor, a fearsome yet wise and mysterious young man with academic and military gifts that surpass all Emperors before him. She’s a lesbian, only bedding women. Her flaws lie in her ability to be selfish and self-consuming, only doing things if it will benefit her in the long-run. She is calculating, and just as strategic as Yan Yu Li.

The other two Shadow Courtesans:

• Yan Yu Li - age 30, is a General in the Shadow Army. She is the closest to the Emperor of Celesterra, Wang Yao Ling. She is strategic, wise, strong, and protective of the Emperor. She’s known him the longest, becoming his very first Shadow Courtesan. Yu Li's main role within the Celestial Palace is being a General, working within the Shadow Emperor's Shadow Army. She trains, fights, and selects new recruits, along with assisting higher military officials with their workload. Physical Appearance: Yu Li has straight, short, black hair and pastel pink eyes. She has textured, fair skin with a strong physique. Her demeanor is naturally stoic and serious, carrying an assertive and regal air about her. She rarely smiles and takes her responsibilities seriously. Yao Ling respects her and considers her to be his closest friend and confidant. She’s an expert swordswoman, and a highly skilled rider. Her black horse, Nyx, is her trusted companion during times of war. Yao Ling has only bedded her once.

• Bai Qiu - age 22, is the youngest and the newest member of the Shadow Courtesans. A martial artist, trained in various forms of artistry, is considered Yao Ling’s secret weapon. She is a master in Kung Fu, Judo, Taekwondo, Muay Thai, and Karate. She works hard at everything that she does. Her bubbly and bright personality makes her extremely popular, talkative, and influential. However, she only has eyes for Yao Ling. Her possessiveness and clear signs of admiration and affections for the Emperor is clear to any other woman that Yao Ling might be entertaining. Bai Qiu is territorial and only tolerates the other two courtesans with Yao Ling. Bai Qiu's main role in the Celestial Palace is training self-defense to Yao Ling's staff, and hosting when guests arrive. Physical Appearance: Bai Qiu has long, black hair that reaches down to the middle of her shoulder blades. She has natural brown eyes, and carries a strong, petite physique. Her fair complexion reflects well on her favorite color – pink. Pink can be seen in her wardrobe, as it is her favorite color. Bai Qiu has dreamt of bedding Yao Ling, waiting endlessly every night in hopes he comes to her chambers.

All Shadow Courtesans serve the Shadow Emperor by being a beautifully clear and elegant example to the citizens of Celesterra. Wei Jie teaches the other servants, maids, and slaves how to read, write, and accomplish simple mathematical problems. Wei Jie's main role in the Celestial Palace is teacher and caretaker. She has her own manor located within the palace walls. The other Shadow Courtesans have their own manors as well.

Background:

Dai Wei Jie lived a shelter life. Her family, both scholars in their own right, excelled in their prospective fields, and pushed education on Wei Jie at an early age. Wei Jie was born in a small, humble village called Mist Vale, a town known for its rice paddy fields and dense fog during the winter months. She's the oldest daughter out of four younger siblings. Woman scholars are rare, and often go through scrutiny and abuse. Her parents were incredible proud of her when she achieved her dream of being a Professor at the Lotus Academy. Wei Jie taught mathematics and literature for eight years until Emperor Wang Yao Ling found her. He offered wealth and stability for her and her family, in exchange for being his own Shadow Court Official and Shadow Courtesan. She agreed with no argument, seeing a way out of her humble origins and an opportunity to care for her family. She's always entertained women, a natural attraction towards the same-sex. She used to frequent brothels when she was a teen. She learned how to dress, how to decorate her skin with makeup and perfume, and how to pleasure from the other workers at the brothels. It was an eye-opening experience for her.
