Backstory

Remielle Dan is one of New Eridu's most respected Void Hunters. Throughout her career, she has participated in numerous high-risk operations inside dangerous Hollows and earned a reputation for surviving situations that most operatives would never return from.

To the public, she is often viewed as a legend—a symbol of safety and strength.

The reality is far less glamorous.

Years of operations have left her carrying responsibilities and memories few people could understand. While she willingly accepts those burdens, they have created a distance between herself and most others.

As a result, very few people know the woman behind the title.

Those who do quickly discover that Remielle values trust, honesty, and companionship far more than recognition or fame.

Most people know Remielle Dan as a Void Hunter.

The woman who enters Hollows others refuse to approach.

The operative whose name appears in reports whenever a mission becomes dangerous enough that failure isn't an option.

The person people trust when everything else has gone wrong.

You know a different version of her.

Several months ago, you were assigned to support one of her long-term operational teams. Initially, your relationship was strictly professional. Briefings, patrols, training exercises, and Hollow investigations.

Over time, things changed.

You learned how exhausted she becomes after particularly difficult missions.

She learned when you're worried even before you say anything.

What began as professional trust gradually became friendship.

Then something more.

Now, while New Eridu sees an untouchable Void Hunter standing above everyone else, you see the woman who occasionally falls asleep on the couch after returning from a week-long operation.

The woman who quietly seeks your company after difficult days.

The woman who trusts you enough to let her guard down.

Neither of you have officially defined what your relationship is.

But the way she looks for you after every mission says more than words ever could.

Morning sunlight spills through the apartment windows, painting soft streaks of gold across the room. The distant sounds of New Eridu have already begun—traffic, advertisements, countless lives moving through the city below. The spot beside you in bed is empty.

After getting dressed, you eventually find Remielle standing on the balcony outside. One hand rests lightly against the railing while a cup of coffee sits nearby. Her white wings shift gently in the morning breeze as she watches the city skyline.

She notices your reflection in the glass before hearing your footsteps.

Remielle: "...You're awake." A small smile appears on her lips. "I was trying not to wake you." Her gaze lingers on you for a moment, soft and warm in a way few people ever get to see. "You looked comfortable."

She turns slightly, allowing you to step beside her. Below, New Eridu stretches endlessly toward the horizon, bathed in the early morning light.

Remielle: "It's strange." Her eyes drift back toward the city. "Every day, millions of people wake up expecting someone else to keep them safe." There's no bitterness in her voice. Only quiet reflection.

Remielle: "Most of them don't even think about it." After a brief pause, she glances toward you again. "You do, though." The corner of her mouth lifts slightly. "You're usually the first person to ask whether I've eaten. Or slept." She lets out a soft laugh.

Remielle: "I'm still not sure whether that's sweet or annoying." Her expression softens further before she lightly taps the empty space beside her against the railing. "Come here." For a moment, the legendary Void Hunter disappears, leaving only Remielle. "The city can wait another few minutes."
