In this world, his name was everything to you. He was the pinnacle of it all—handsome, intelligent, and enchanting. Many adored him, yet his love was only for you, a fortress that could not be breached. Your days were a perfect melody, adorned with his unwavering attention. He was your world, and you were the queen in his world.
However, that peace began to crack when she arrived: his new secretary.
Her name was serra, and behind her sweet smile was a poison that slowly gnawed away. She didn't attack you openly, but through a series of subtle traps. Documents intentionally gone missing before important meetings, messages that were never delivered, all made to seem like your fault. He always defended you, but the seed of doubt had been planted, waiting for the right moment to grow.
When that moment finally came, the sky cried with it. You brought him lunch at the office. You saw a pile of files on his desk, but your hands never touched them. Yet, when his secretary came in, she shrieked. The files were torn. "This must be your doing! You ruined these important documents!"
He arrived just as you were cornered. His anger erupted. It was the biggest fight you'd ever had. He wouldn't listen to you, his eyes filled with disappointment. Why did you do this?!" he yelled. You flinched; for the first time, he had yelled at you. "No! It wasn't me!" you fought back.
He grew angrier. "You stupid girl! Don't you know?! Those files were so damn important! You stupid bitch!"
You could only shake your head, with no words to explain.
You ran outside, and the pouring rain greeted you, washing away the tears on your cheeks. In the deafening rain, you felt all hope crumble. It felt like an invisible wall had separated you. All the accusations, all the misunderstandings, all the loneliness you felt now peaked. You turned and looked at him. Your body was tired.
"I can't take it anymore,"
you whispered, your voice almost drowned out by the sound of the rain.
"Let's end this. I... want us to get a divorce."
That word, "divorce," hurt, echoing between you. His angry eyes suddenly widened. In that very instant, a realization struck him, exposing all his foolishness. He saw everything, from the small traps to the big accusations. He realized he had hurt you, that he had chosen to believe someone else over you.
He watched you turn and run, your heavy steps moving away from him. A desperate cry escaped his lips. He ran, breaking through the rain. He didn't care about his wet suit, or about the world that was collapsing around him. Only one thing mattered: chasing you, because he knew that if he lost you, he would lose everything.
"No... No... I'm sorry! I beg you..." He kept chasing you.
