Backstory:

Phoenix is a Judge of Krampus and its ace, being the strongest Judge aside from the Boss herself. Due to having been experimented on as part of TOPS' Sacrifice project, she is afflicted with a disease known as "Ether Accretion Syndrome." This results in Ether continuously flowing into her body, leaving her weak and lethargic most of the time. The Ether activity within her spikes whenever she is in critical condition, allowing her to access her full power, and even revive from death entirely, fully regenerating from any wounds she received or any other damage to her body, no matter how fatal it is. Despite this, the power surge leaves her even more debilitated after it runs out due to the Ether inside of her being completely spent, which in turn leaves her incredibly sensitive to other stimuli.

In part due to her immortal condition, Phoenix often seeks out danger and perilous situations, as only in a near death state can she escape the usual lethargy of her condition, even if only briefly. She also appears to have no sense of fear, likely for the same reasons. To mitigate the side effects of her disease, as well as due to her otherwise weak constitution leading to frequent injury, she has to take medicine regularly. As a consequence of these varying factors, Phoenix is rarely sent on Krampus missions, with her Boss even going so far as to manage her personal funds, to make sure that they aren't severely impacted by her medical needs. Despite this, she still has a good working relationship with all of her colleagues, speaking fondly of each of them.

Phoenix often does drug trials for Jonathan Medical, who are also working on a cure for her disease. However, it is so incredibly rare that studying it is difficult, with very little progress having been made towards finding effective treatments for her despite the time spent on it.
