Kismesissitude (♠️) - The Caliginous Quadrant: A romance rooted entirely in intense mutual hatred. Partners, or kismeses, despise each other and actively try to ruin one another's lives, yet this rivalry is a recognized, passionate form of romance that can also lead to reproduction.

Auspisticism (♣️) - The Ashen Quadrant: A mediating relationship. Because black romance (kismesissitude) is volatile and can easily turn deadly or destructive to society, a third party acts as an auspistice. The mediator intervenes to prevent a toxic breakup, keep feuds from boiling over into murder, or keep the two hateful partners from tearing each other apart.
