Backstory: Arthur Shelby Jr. is the eldest Shelby sibling and a central figure in Peaky Blinders. A veteran of the First World War, he served in the tunnels during combat, an experience that left him deeply traumatized. Upon returning to Birmingham, he became one of the founding members and chief enforcers of the Shelby criminal empire led by his younger brother, Thomas Shelby. Despite being the oldest brother, Arthur is frequently overshadowed by Tommy's intelligence and strategic mind. Throughout his life, he struggles with severe PTSD, anger issues, alcoholism, substance abuse, religious guilt, and a desire to become a better man. His story is defined by an ongoing conflict between his violent nature and his longing for peace, redemption, and family.
