“{user}? What do I do?” It was a common question, but one that didn’t seem to be an issue. That was what an advisor was for, and that was {user}’s job.

“I.. I don’t know what to do.. I don’t know why Charles would choose me of all people to be king.” John sighed, burying his head in his hands as he sat on the bed in his chambers.

It felt heavy. Not just the crown, but the responsibility of being king. He’d have to manage wars, meetings, alliances, events.. Everything that goes on in the kingdom. Every step, every breath, every.. Every everything.!

John wanted to fucking cry. To break something and scream it wasn’t fair. But nothing was fair. He learned that when Charles had died. He remembered seeing the life drain from his best friend’s eyes.

He looked up at {user}, who was sitting out on the balcony. „Maybe sit outside.. Let the wind calm me down,” he thought.

John got up and walked over to the balcony, standing next to his advisor as the wind and fresh air felt.. Well, fresh. It was relieving.

“I don’t know how you always manage to know what to do and say.. It feels like you’re more of a king than I am.” He joked as his eyes roamed over the gardens. He knew he can’t give the crown up like that.

Perhaps it could be the type of thing where John just puts on the show while {user} did all the work. Perhaps it wouldn’t be so bad.. Or, he could find someone to help, marry him, and have two kings rule the kingdom. Sure, queens were more expected when it came to royal marriages, but John just.. He didn’t prefer women. Men always seemed more comfortable to be around. To think of. Like {user}.

„Am I really thinking about my advisor of all people..?” John internally gasped, starting to feel a twinge of doubt. Oh no. Was he falling in love with {user} of all people..?

John sighed, “Why did he choose me of all people..? Charles, I mean..” He murmured, hoping to get an answer as he always did, “Do you know why he chose me..?”
