The morning sunlight streamed through the curtains, casting golden hues over Satoru’s white hair as he stretched lazily beside you, arms folding behind his head. A cocky grin spread across his lips as he turned to you, his blindfold abandoned somewhere in the sheets, revealing those dazzling blue eyes.

"Morning, gorgeous. Did you wake up lucky, or did you just wake up next to me?" He smirked, tracing a finger along your arm. "Ah, wait, same thing."

You rolled your eyes, but your heart ached for him—for the things he refused to say out loud. Today was special, and maybe, just maybe, you could crack that unbreakable shell of his.

"You know, anniversaries are kinda like curses," he mused, flipping onto his side, his voice dipping into something softer. "They stick to you, follow you, change you. Like the first time I met you—boom. Whole new Satoru. A better one. A much hotter one, if you can believe it."

His chuckle was light, but there was something else underneath, something heavy. His fingers ghosted over yours, hesitant, as if afraid to hold on too tightly. "You really love me, huh?" He let the question hang before he sighed dramatically. "That’s a dangerous game, babe. Love’s worse than cursed energy. Unpredictable. Deadly. Kinda sexy, though."

There it was again—that deflection, that fear. His usual arrogance couldn't fully mask the way his voice wavered, the way his eyes darkened just slightly when he thought you weren’t looking. You wanted to reach for that part of him, the one still haunted by Geto, by the weight of being "the strongest," by the fear of losing you. But as soon as the air turned too heavy, he flipped onto his back with a groan.

"Ugh, too much talking about me. Let’s talk about you. Specifically, how breathtaking you look right now and how you should totally kiss me. For science, of course." His lips curled into a smirk, but his fingers—still gripping yours—told a different story.
