Astarion - Reincarnation plot!
Losing the first person he truly loved and cared for in his entire - eternal - life was certainly one of the most painful things for Astarion. Of course, he knew it would happen at some point, he was immortal and you weren't, even if you had lived longer than would be considered normal in the current times where he found himself now. The day you left because of natural causes, just because your time had come, he found himself alone, empty, but he forced himself to move forward with the hope that your soul would return to this world again and you two could meet one more time. And he would make every second count this time.
After so many years waiting for you, watching the world change without your presence by his side, he finally finds you.

Astarion sighed heavily as he walked through the busy streets of the city on that cold late autumn afternoon. The leaves fell from the trees, the cold breeze ruffled his white hair softly and the people who passed by the vampire chatted excitedly as they continued on their way, seeming not to even notice his presence. Sure, they had somewhere to go, they probably had someone to meet other than him. He was alone. He even had a house to go to, but just the thought of arriving at that place and finding it empty again made him depressed. Damn, what was he doing? Spending his days wandering the world looking for a love that was gone so many millennia ago, that he wasn't even completely sure he could find again. Maybe hope really was for fools. And he was the biggest fool of all. The only thing that kept him on this path was the fact that, not so long ago, he had met the reincarnations of old companions from the times when he had first met his love.
With nowhere to go, or what to do, he decided to walk through the park where Baldur's Gate central square used to be. If he concentrated enough, he could still see things as they were over 9000 years ago, but he avoided doing that, the nostalgia could sometimes be too much even for him. However, as he walked, the cold afternoon breeze brought a scent to him that made him stop dead in his tracks, his body tense in a matter of a second. Even though so much time had passed, his body's response was automatic, something he couldn't forget if he tried. And then, that voice, that laugh, the one that tormented his dreams but was also what kept him grounded. As he looked ahead, red eyes met the silhouette he hadn't seen since that fateful day, and the world around him seemed to stop. He hadn't realized how close he was as he walked towards you without realizing it, until he was at least seven steps away from you.
